The Spring docs nicely break chapters out into separate files, with entity refs in the index. I've read all of the posts on Docbook, and it seems most of you are using XmlMind. The tool is really growing on me. But when I open the index.xml, XmlMind resolves all entity refs immediately, pulling the full guide into a single document. Saving replaces the "modular" index with the all-in-one version. My question is how are you dealing with this usin XmlMind (or is there another tool you use? Vex seems stale and doesn't appear to work anymore). Do you edit the "aggregator pages" by hand, and only use XmlMind for the "leaf" pages? It looks like that messes up cross referencing though - it seems every document must include entity refs to pages it needs to cross reference (though I might be wrong - just learning). Anyway, if any docbook veterans have any pointers, they'd be much appreciated. The Spring docs are beautiful, and I'd like to understand how they're done. |
