We have a heap space problem on the test machine, apparently caused by the log level having been set to DEBUG in the "test/log4j.properties" file in the repo. I've changed the default log level back to WARN for the time being, so the build should hopefully recover tonight. I've also increased the heap size of the forked test VMs to 256m, so the automatic build would probably work at DEBUG level as well now. I do not consider this necessary at the build server, though, and not on everybody's local CVS snapshot (or downloaded -with-dependencies distribution) either. I perform local tests at DEBUG level before every release anyway, which should be sufficient. Juergen -----Original Message----- From: spr...@li... [mailto:spr...@li...] On Behalf Of bu...@in... At this point there is no plan to do this. Right now we don't actually build Spring with maven, so creation of the snapshots each night isn't really feasible. I know that there is some desire for this and we already actually do this for some of the subprojects (spring-ws and spring-osgi) so if maven becomes more integrated into Spring, we may do it. I'd recommend opening a ticket at the JIRA http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/spring/secure/Dashboard.jspa and we'll work it if it becomes appropriate. Dear Spring team,
When it comes to a factoryBean like this :
<bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean">
<property name="lobHandler" ref="lobHandler"/>
<property name="mappingDirectoryLocations">
<list>
<value>classpath:/net/xxx</value>
</list>
</property>
<property name="hibernateProperties">
<props>
<!-- connection options -->
<prop key="hibernate.c3p0.max_size">${hibernate.c3p0.max_size}</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.c3p0.min_size">${hibernate.c3p0.min_size}</prop>
...
</props>
</property>
...
</bean>
what I need to do neatly is
LocalSessionFactoryBean sessionFactoryBean = (LocalSessionFactoryBean) getApplicationContext().getBean("&sessionFactory");
So any xml automagic in the applicationContext.xml might not end up to a clearer way of resolving the bean itself in lieu of its factoryBean. I am sure that changing the BeanFactory interface and coming up with a new method like getBeanFromFactory(String factoryBeanName) is not an easy issue because of backward compatibility. But I know that this is the obscure code and I find Mr. Colin Yates' idea a good solution. If we are restricted, at least a more meaningful prefix can be a better solution.
All The Best,
Ramin Farhanian

Many thanks Juergen I'll just post a link back to your response I think, since the reaction of some spring developers was stated as an issue ;) Roger "Juergen Hoeller" <jue...@in...> wrote in message news:200...@ma...... > As far as I gathered when browing through that thread, the situation isn't > something to worry about: As pointed out, Spring publishes its singleton > beans safely. I'd suggest to use '#' or '@' as an alternative, but any other char could do the job - ref="#myFactory" - ref="!myFactory" - ref="^myFactory" - ref="@myFactory" ... 2007/2/22, Rod Johnson <ro...@in...>: > > I agree.
