This has been in consideration but we haven't looked at whether the iBATIS API allows for doing these things programmatically yet. Feel free to check this out and create an enhancement report in JIRA :-) Juergen -----Original Message----- From: spr...@li... [mailto:spr...@li...] On Behalf Of David Smiley Sent: Thursday, April 05, 2007 3:38 AM To: spr...@li... Subject: [Springframework-developer] iBatis,inline SqlMapConfig configuration? Hi. Have any of the Spring developers that did the iBatis integration (Juergen Hoeller ?) considered in-effect inlining the iBatis configuration (just SqlMapConfig.xml) into Spring (SqlMapClientFactoryBean) so that there is no need for the separate XML configuration file between Spring and the SqlMap files? To do this... all that's needed are JavaBean properties for everything in the <settings> element, and then a list of sqlMap references. In practice, few if any settings need to be set (from my experience anyway). ~ David Smiley -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/iBatis%2C-inline-SqlMapConfig-configuration--tf3529186 .html#a9848727 Sent from the springframework-developer mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Hi All, Is there any approach to get the meta-data of a spring bean at runtime? For instance, we have the name or id of a spring bean, how can we get the information about 1) the name of others spring beans which are referenced by this bean. 2) the advisors which are waved around the methods of this bean etc. And, besides exposing spring bean to MBean, does spring framework have other manageability support on applicationContext/ beanFactory level? Thanks in advance! -Felix Notice: This email message, together with any attachments, may contain information of BEA Systems, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliated entities, that may be confidential, proprietary, copyrighted and/or legally privileged, and is intended solely for the use of the individual or entity named in this message. Thanks for the responses, briefly: > It sounds like you are implementing a event driven approach to parallel processing.- Richard Kind of, but the details are quite different. > If you do get something like this working with Spring, I'd love to see what you come up with. - Greg Kick I could write a book on the subject (I am actually writing a book on the subject) however I have posted some thoughts in the forum: http://forum.springframework.org/showthread.php?t=36902 The post is fairly hardcore and I might have not said enough (or possibly too much), either way I can clarify anything as needed. Integration with Spring would mean merging two architectures requiring a major development cycle, hope it is of interest! Many regards, Simon -----Original Message----- From: spr...@li... [mailto:spr...@li...] On Behalf Of Simon Funnell Sent: Friday, 30 March 2007 3:31 p.m. To: spr...@li... Subject: [Springframework-developer] Non-blocking approach. Hi, I have been working on a framework for working with high numbers of concurrent clients. It is attempting to achieve this by elevating threads to conceptual processors and replacing them with a type of tiny virtual machine which use atomic operations (non-blocking operations) and common exchange points for implementing concurrency. The implementation is not production ready yet as I wanted to research integration and develop tests for it. I've looked at spring somewhat and have several questions: 1. Is this too low level for spring, i.e. should I be looking at another project related to spring? 2. Is this already or currently being implemented? 3. If I am on the right mailing list, is anybody interested in me posting a general overview? 4. If I am not in the right place, please point me in some direction! I am here because I basically don't want to produce 'another framework' and I like the principle of 'Spring should not compete with good existing solutions, but should foster integration.' Hope this is of interest, many regards Simon ____________________________________________________________________________________ The fish are biting. Get more visitors on your site using Yahoo! Dear Spring Community You are invited to participate in a research project that I am conducting into open source component licensing. The research is part of my Doctorate of Business Administration degree at the University of Newcastle, Australia and is being supervised by Dr Len Whitehouse. It is hoped that the research will offer useful information about how component licensing is approached in practice, and the results will be made freely available to any person who is interested. We are looking for software developers who are working on either commercial or open source projects. Participation in the research is entirely voluntary, and privacy has been carefully addressed to ensure that participants cannot be identified. The research has received an ethics clearance from the university. Participation will normally take less than 30 minutes. If you participate, you may optionally view a licensing compliance assessment report for your project. This may be of general interest or assist in planning licensing compliance strategies. If you are interested in learning more about the research, please visit http://research.acegitech.com. At that location you will find the full Research Information Sheet that explains the research and provides you with details on how to participate or ask further questions. Thank you taking the time to read this email, and I hope that you will consider participating. Kind regards Ben Alex |

Have you seen this version by Yan Weng?: http://yanweng.blogspot.com/2006/02/prototype-of-jython-scriptfactory-for.html James Tikalsky > I felt it was important to add jython support since the python > following is still strong. > > Also looks like the jython project is becoming more active with > ambitions to sync up to the latest version of c python. > > i still like python... call me old school. > > so anyway this is what I did: > > I created an extension to the spring-lang-2.0.xsd: > > <xsd:element name="jython" type="dynamicScriptType"> > <xsd:annotation> > <xsd:documentation><![CDATA[ > A Spring bean backed by a Jython class definition. > ]]></xsd:documentation> > </xsd:annotation> > </xsd:element> > > Then added a package org.springframework.scripting.jython with the > following sources added: JythonScriptFactory.java > > In "getScriptedObject" perform the following: > > public Object getScriptedObject(ScriptSource actualScriptSource, > Class[] actualInterfaces) > throws IOException, ScriptCompilationException { > try { > PythonInterpreter.initialize(System.getProperties(),null, new String[] > {}); > PythonInterpreter interpreter = new PythonInterpreter(); > interpreter.exec(actualScriptSource.getScriptAsString()); > PyStringMap locals = (PyStringMap) interpreter.getLocals(); > PyList list = locals.values(); > PyClass clazz = null; > for (int i=0; i < list.__len__(); i++) { > PyObject py = list.__getitem__(i); > if ((py instanceof PyClass) && !(py instanceof PyJavaClass)) { > if (clazz != null) throw new PyException(new PyString("multiple > python class declarations present")); > clazz = (PyClass) py; > } > } > PyInstance instance = (PyInstance) clazz.__call__(); > return instance.__tojava__(actualInterfaces[0]); > } > catch (PyException ex) { > throw new ScriptCompilationException("Could not compile Jython > script: " + actualScriptSource, ex); > } > } > > > This is just a POC.
