add a way to ask the cloudfarmer for a Hadoop cluster from SF, so we can test it -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: SFOS-1442 URL: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/browse/SFOS-1442 Project: SmartFrog Issue Type: Improvement Components: _service_cloudfarmer, _service_hadoop Affects Versions: 3.17.x Reporter: Steve Loughran Assignee: Steve Loughran I want to test Hadoop code running on newly allocated clusters. For that we need to be able to ask the cloudfarmer for a cluster running Hadoop over which we then run tests. Currently the logic to create the Hadoop cluster is hidden in the cloudfarmer webapp, it waits for machines to get allocated, loads .sf files with custom templates, etc. Either we talk to the deployed webapp (always a valid option), or we isolate the code to create a cluster so that it can be used outside the webapp. Short term: do neither. Modify the pagerank tests or create a new -terasort project that tests terasorting by being brought up against a live cluster; create the cluster by hand, through the webapp. This will test the hadoop cluster without so many distractions -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |
