[ http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/browse/SFOS-1214?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=11693#action_11693 ] Steve Loughran commented on SFOS-1214: -------------------------------------- Looking at this, barring some experiments with entries in /etc/hosts on the client and server, this is a wontfix for using RMI. Hence we need a long-haul deployment API that isnt based on RMI. The cddlm api is there today, may need retesting, else move up to something RESTy based on JAX-RS. > SmartFrog doesn't answer to external callers when deployed behind a NAT > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SFOS-1214 > URL: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/browse/SFOS-1214 > Project: SmartFrog > Issue Type: Bug > Components: .sfCore > Affects Versions: 3.17.010 > Reporter: Steve Loughran > Assignee: Steve Loughran > > If you bring up SF behind a NAT-firewalled host, even if it routes the port, the address is wrong and RMI doesn't know what to do. > This is an RMI problem. > http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=289869 -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |
