try this attached version, which has moved the quotes.

export SFCODEBASE="-Dorg.smartfrog.codebase=$CODEBASE"

Also note that the ant tasks are immune to a lot of the shell quirks, 
because they dont go via any shell at all, they just exec the command 
line they build up. that is the main way I deploy things.
