Thans for asking but sorry, due to a non-disclosure agreement, I can't share the pdf.
This is a rather large file (13,5 MB). I meet several issues with skim search on other files too.
I will try to add documentation to this case when possible.

Isn't there any file you can share for which you see this problem? I cannot reproduce it, and the crash report is not sufficiently clear in what really goes wrong. And the code point it points to looks absolutely fine to me.

I made the same search on much smaller files, and it didn't crash. So it's due to the file.
The file's size is 13 273 629 Bytes.
It was created by Acrobat PDFMaker 23 pour PowerPoint using Adobe PDF Library 23.1.206 (source Finder infos).

Can you perhaps attach a PDF for which you get this crash? And what text did you search for?

I figured out the problem. This should be fixed for the next release.

When I put the searched text within double-quotes, skim doesn',t crash at all.
