Extract the composites from the database in surpac to a string file. Convert the string file to a GeoEas file (can be done in a text editor replacing commas with tabs). From: Robert TSHILUMBA <rob...@gm...> Sent: Saturday, 18 June 2022 12:07 To: sge...@li... Subject: [Sgems-users] Help- table structure (3D) Good day I’m kindly asking about the 3D data table structure. When using Surpac, I usually separate information in 4 tables. Among them, collar, assay and survey and the software gather them accordingly and read. How can I arrange the attribute (grades) relatively to the depth of occurrence for a 3D modeling in SGeMS. (For a simple case with Dip= -90) and if possible, for a complexe case (Dip =-75 ) Any help would be highly appreciated -- Tshilumba Kapajika Robert, Géo., MSc. |

I noticed a few days ago that in variogram SGEMS allows setting the negative sill and negative nugget effect. It is not theoretically possible. and negative nugget effect is inconceivable. Stay tuned to this possibility of error. Moacir -- *--------------------------------------- * Moacir A. I am using sgsim to create a virtual reality of hydraulic conductivity for my thesis - using variogram as input (no hard data). I am confused about what to expect on output - thought it would create a std normal distribution of (which I could consider to be lnK). It did this for my first variogram which I then back transformed using mean and stddev(of lnK) and then converted to K. Now I am trying to modify variogram to get more structure - e.g. increasing range from 12 to 150-200. The output does not appear to be std normal. Is this approach valid? |

Hello all. I am about to embark on a mission to learn much more than I currently do about geostatistics, and I plan to use SGeMS to do it. I plan to buy a new laptop on which to run it. Can somebody give me some guidance on how much computing and/or graphics horsepower I need? It's a second computer, so I'm looking at something closer to the minimum than the ideal. Thanks Brian |

Dear all, I'm looking for a SgeMS-dataset well suited for teaching mining students about geostats. Anyone that can help? I have problems getting my hands on the book "Applied Geostatistics with SGeMS. A User's Guide". Can someone please elaborate on how the "Angles" in the variogram modeling window is used? I fail to see the link between the angles I use when I calculate the experimental variograms and the angles I can enter when I model the variogram. Is it possible to model a variogram down along the dip of a deposit? Is it possible to have a dipping block model? -- Best regards, Steinar Ellefmo Associate professor NTNU Dept of Geology and Mineral Resources Engineering Sem Sælandsvei 1 NO - 7491 Trondheim Norway Tlf: +47 73 59 48 56 Mob.: +47 905 07 125 |

Hello. I am trying to create porosity scenarios from a 3D grid with uncertainty, modeled as missing points in the grid, and using the grid's permeability as a secondary variable with no uncertainty. The porosity grid has values that range from 0 to 1 inclusive, and the permeability grid has values equal or greater than 0. When performing simulations on COSGSIM, the resulting porosity scenarios possess values outside the original range, with negative and greater than 1 values. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to constrain the realization values to a specified range? Here are the paremeters set for the simulation: Simulation grid: A newly created cartesian grid containing the original permiability grid Kriging type: Simple Cokriging option: Markov Model 1 Primary data: Porosity data from a point set with missing points (uncertainty) Ranges: 15 | 15 | 15 Angles: 0 | 0 | 0 Secondary data: Permeability data from the simulation grid (complete grid with all values) Primary variable: Variogram model constructed from the original porosity values (no uncertainty) Secondary variable: Coefficient of correlation between the original porosity and permeability grids Thank you in advance, Bernardo Lindgren |

Matias, My student wrote a Python script that can be used to perform cross validation calculations in SGEMS. Its use is not very simple, but it works well. Comparison with calculations made in GSLIB and Isatis showed only minor differences due to rounding. I can send you the script code with explanations written in English how to use it.
