#117 Session start error
Hello, I wanted to ask about error i get when try to open config file, it says configuration error, and session start error. the error apply randomly in different computer. im using windows SEB v 3.0 but when im using v 2.4 and it works, is there any solution for this?

Most likely a security tool (anti-virus software etc.) is blocking parts of SEB, probably the SEB Windows Service; you. can confirm that in the TaskManager: Is the SEB Service running or is it stopped? Try to restarting it manually in TaskManager.
The anti-virus software might display this false positive detection of SEB somewhere and you might be able to confirm that SEB is allowed to run in that software. Otherwise you could deactivate the anti-virus software while SEB is running.
If you can confirm this, could you please let us know exactly which anti-virus software (product, version number) you are using?
Im not using any anti - virus software, already disable windows real time protection also. In the TaskManager the SEB service is running, already reinstalled the SEB also, but the problem still the same
Thanks for the feedback. Until now we assumed that always some security tool or setting is blocking SEB when this error is displayed. We should analyze the issue further. Could you send us the SEB log files and indicate what date/time the error happened approximately? Our Windows developer will then have a look at it next week.

Sorry, we still need to update the public documentation for SEB 3.0.

The first error ("SEB failed to start a new session") happened due to a Windows Update being executed and SEB not being able to terminate the Windows Update service.
The second error is most likely a bug in SEB where a space in the user name isn't handled correctly. We'll fix that with the next version.
Dear Sir
As per discussed last time you asked me to install safeexambrowser 3.0 and i have done that, but still struggle with error on starting and please help me out. I have attached all screenshots and logs file. I need the webcam option on and live monitoring webcam. So thats what i need.
I have removed everything from appdata, program file x86 , control panel , and done a fresh installation, but still same issue

I could not find any screenshots in your attachment. If you have trouble connecting to a website, it is most likely a network and not a SEB issue. For me it is still unclear where exactly your problem lies. SEB 3.0 allows live monitoring of the URL filtering mechanism in the application log, which you can enable in the Config Tool under "Security". This should help you find out where exactly the issue lies with your configuration / URL filtering rules.

The website news recently talking about issue in start of SEB 3.0 thats what is my challenge thats its not starting. Showing me error consult the logs and i have not seen anything wrong inside logs. I have also tried chromiminum but no luck with it. Please I need a safeexambrowser successfuly working on windows 10 64bit computers.
I found SEB2.4 working fine but no webcam tracking and monitoring. I want to open in rules only classroom.google.com and rest of drive.google.com and gmail , mail.google.com inbox should not open. Please help me out.

The log you've posted here is from the Config Tool of SEB 3.0, I don't quite understand what you're trying to achieve there. As it seems that you have trouble with the SEB service, try to deactivate it in the services control panel of Windows and set the SEB service policy to "allow to run SEB without service", see https://safeexambrowser.org/windows/win_usermanual_en.html#SecurityPane
If that still does not work and you are not using any anti-virus software or alike and you have full administrator privileges on your computer, I suggest you do the following:

I am the network admin at a school district. I have tried installed the MSI for ISBE_ISA_2021_v3_1_0.msi. The install worked but when I try to launch the program I get an error saying "failed to start a new session". I have attached the error logs. I have ruled out firewall filtering and antivirus. I would've ruled out the VC++ redistributable but I do not know where to go to find this nor what version SEB needs.

Something on your system is preventing WCF from working correctly, thus the application components can't communicate with each other. You'd need to fix that in order to be able to use SEB 3.x.
