The Debian ISO I downloaded in order to install scrolloutf1 is sweet. I love Debian, so yeah I was comfortable with trying scrolloutf1 this way. Easy peasy install. Much mindless clicking and some minor configuration.
Welcome to the suck.
I login to web UI and CLAMAV is red. I poke around the forums and evil le google and I see the same thing: clamav fooks up. Fooks up for years now, according to the forums. So I say this, sweet until CLAMAV tags the subject line of every single legitimate email with "Not Scanned!" since freshclam will not update the database one decimal version. There is no fix for this (yes I RTFM well) outside of major surgery and scrollout clearly paints this as Debians fault. I did spend a little time trying to get the db to update but was unwilling to spend much time on it.
Fair enough. I dislike using a scalpel to fix ugly so I move on.
Scrollout forums mention Ubuntu Server works. After some minor forum searches and no landmines detected, I go ahead and download latest version of Ubuntu Server 14.04.1.LTS since Ubuntu is a Debian derivative and as I mentioned before I R <3 Debian. I then install Ubuntu Server 14.whatever and do the wget and F$CK ME RUNNING I get a message saying "blah blah blah scrolloutf1 does not install on newer than Ubuntu Server 13.04" or some shit.
Thank you for wasting my time.
This is my initial review and yes it's harsh... you get zero stars.
I would say 4 stars if the operational scrolloutf1 system had a little tolerance for clamav db minor release version.
I would say 4 stars if the subject line tagging could be stopped instead of the bitchy "you can't nerf functionality" bullshit excuse was not deployed as opposed to giving admins a way to disable the subject line tagging as for years now this has been an issue (according to evil le google and the scrolloutf1 forums).
-1 star per issue, -1 star for lack of stating everything is Debian's fault and the last star, you lose since the install is neither complete nor alternately available without the USA's NSA information gathering capability prior to choosing the alternate install method.
lastly, in my experience videos do not replace succinct documentation.
Thank you for your time,
6r

Is not good nor a bad project, it is what it is. There are plenty of alternatives. Come back whenever you need a simple and free one.
Welcome to just roll the install:
I'm not aware of any ClamvAV bug, click the RED CLAMAV and wait or ... just wait. The initial major update takes forever and was postponed after installation.
Ubuntu is history - just a personal decision once I paid attention.
I didn't quite understand the NSA sentence...?! Communication is tapped since before phone's invention. The scope of the project is not that.
With more cases such as this, I can close the project in a month. Can't thank you for that, but I appreciate you find the time to share your frustration on the forum and Review section with such confidence.
Marius.

Don't let the senseless rants as this to get to you. Scrollout is great product. Easy GUI with flexible underhood. Specially I love the way how GUI makes configuration files through the scripting and template files. I use two servers in production for few months now and it works as charm. Peace

I can tell you that I followed your instructions to the T and had some help with port forwarding. This project saved my career as I could not convince my superiors that a spam filter was completely necessary. (Even though I was receiving about 100-200 per day for 30 employees) I have since moved this box to another domain and works great. I would love to move to a virtual environment soon. But for now it works great. Also the fact that you support your product rather quickly. Many thanks!

Thank you guys for your support. I really appreciate it.
One thing worth to be mentioned here is that the project will remain free and clean (no ads), despite financial conditions. I just wanted to clarify that if anyone has doubts for the future.
Again, thank you.
Marius.

I would say 4 stars if the download page here http://www.scrolloutf1.com/download or install page here http://www.scrolloutf1.com/deploy/install mentioned anything about not using any Ubuntu Server version greater than 13.04.
