Under http://support.sas.com/documentation/installcenter/index.html the last available SAS documentation for Linux is for Version 9.2(TS1M0) from Mar 27, 2009. There are two documentations, one for "Linux for x64" and one for "Linux for Intel Architecture". SAS is officially supported on the following operation systems:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and 10 . I suggest that we test SASUnit on any Linux Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu) and do not mention the version and distribution name in SASUnit documentation, because once installed there are no SAS relevant differences between versions and distributions of Linux.

I have now a running SAS 9.2 (TS2M3) Installation on Vmware Player 4.0.3 with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (32 Bit) on my PC. The size of the file is ca. 8 GB and anybody who is interested can ask me for copying. I discussed with colleagues the question if there are SASUnit relevant differences in different Linux distributions. The tentative answer is: probably not. I will do some further investigations to this question next week.

OK, so we can close the investigation phase and go into implementation. I will create a separate task ticket for that.
We will be deciding later if we put this VM on the VMware server.
