I widened the page area and then the bigest state on the drawing to match.
I added a state within the state and named it.
Then the assert happened when I attempted to add a new transition.
Click okay the assert message closed the QM tools.

I lost all changes mention above.
I did this again almost identical and then assert repeated.

Now, trying a slightly different approach. Trying saving a lot after each step but still received the assert.

More info, I can add a transition on the left side. But as soon as I draw from right edge to left (not connecting), I get the assert. Ouch.

Workaround found: If I first draw the transition from the top, and then move it to the right side, the assert didn't happen. Yikes.

Thanks for reporting. Which OS are you running on (Windows, Linux, macOS?)

I can't reproduce the issue on Windows. Is it possible for you to attach a small model with the description of steps that lead to the assertion? This would be very helpful. Reproducing is half of the battle. Thank you for you help!

There is a new QM 4.5.1-beta1 release ready for testing (on Windows only at this time), see:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/qpc/files/beta

It would be greatly appreciated if you could download and try this release to see whether it fixes the bug. Please post your findings back to this discussion thread.

    Thank you for your help!

I installed the beta and it seems to help. Yes, I am on Windows 10 in this case.

I tried several times. I also went back to 4.3.1 and tried it again and reproduced the error to make sure I had be steps right. It only happens if the steps are just right I guess. Something to do with widening the background I think.
Anyway, it looks likes you made it better. Unfortunately, it will takes us awhile to upgrade due to our testing policy and this would need framework 6.5.0 and we are on 6.3.7.

Luckily, I found that workaround for now. Thanks for addressing it so fast.
