Hi! I create patch (for current 1.2.9 version) for add server admin role. Server admin can manage mails, forwards, maillists in all vpopmail domain's. Server admin - it's postmaster of one, hardcoded domain. After login with this account, server admin can select between all existing domains (but can't add or remove domains, or set domain options... yet). INSTALL 1. cd to source tree and apply patch: patch -p1 < /path/qmailadmin-serveradmin.path 2. edit qmailadmin.h for add domain of server admin - find #define MAIN_DOMAIN "domain.com" and change domain.com to your domain 3. configure and make as usually 4. login as postmaster for selected domain 5. if all ok, u see select box this number of domains Patch in attachment. in qmailadmin-1.2.7 when user select "Forward To: " and "Save a Copy " The mail that is copied for local user is double. So if someone send mail that have one attachment, the copied user gets two attachments but one is original and the other one is something else and much smaller. Do you see a .qw file in the Maildir of the user you're trying to authenticate as? Is there any old .qw file that QmailAdmin can't delete because it doesn't have the right permissions? Since libvpopmail is statically linked into QmailAdmin, that isn't the problem. And QmailAdmin doesn't call any programs in ~vpopmail/bin. It might read vlimits.default in ~vpopmail/etc, but that should be world readable. You could try su'ing to the web user and running vuserinfo to see if you can get the password info for an account. If that fails, you could use strace to isolate where it's failing. If it works, then we've made progress. You could add a bunch of printfs (or fprintf (stderr, ...)) into the source and isolate where it's failing. I'm taking a vacation starting today, so I don't have the time to look at it myself. If you can narrow down where it fails, I'll look into why. -- Tom Collins - to...@to... I tried the suggestions, unfortunately it still won't work. It appears that around line 246 where it says /* Authenticate a user and domain admin */ is about where it dies. I'm guessing it's having trouble doing the vauth_user because of permissions to do with the vpopmail libraries. I'm not so sure it's getting to the point where it even tries to create the .qw file. Anyway, I'm not trying to be a pain, just be nice to get it to work. As always thanks for taking time to answer back. My guess is that the login is failing because QmailAdmin can't create it's .qw file in the Maildir of the account you're trying to log into. If you make sure that everything under ~vpopmail/domains is group writeable (and set the group execute bit on directories), then you should be able to log in. If I configure QMailAdmin to run as vpopmail:vchkpw then I will have to run it under a different sub-domain. Unfortunately this would mean that I cannot have an authenticated encrypted secure admin for QMailAdmin (something many of my customers would like to have) which would force me to either pay for another security certificate authentication or pay for a wildcard one -- neither of which I really want to do. (Obviously it would be encrypted with or without a third-party authentication for the certificate; but that would cause the browser to popup a security warning and cause some panic.) I tried changing all the vpopmail folders to 770 so that the vchkpw group has access and all the .qmails to 660 for the same reason. But that doesn't seem to have changed anything. I would guess that there is a way to do this without compromising the security of the installation. http://qmailadmin.sf.net/ 1.2.8 - released 4-Jul-05 Minor fixes and some new features, including a Czech translation. One nice feature is a single "change password" page that can be linked to directly. Use the URL <http://servername/cgi-bin/qmailadmin/passwd/> for an easy change password interface. ChangeLog: Tom Collins - Added single page for changing password. [775208] - Switch to improved method of handling strings in language files, resulting in reduced disk access and faster rendering of pages. - mailinglists: Update settings screen to show that archive retrieval limitations don't apply to ezmlm-cgi. - mailinglist.c: Fix compile error with non-idx ezmlm installs. - lang/en: More descriptive entry for "Standard" email delivery on Modify User page. L4nce1ot/honeymak - mailinglist.c: Fix Tom's fix for non-idx ezmlm installs. [1123809] sunezapa - Fix entry 303 ("Delete Mail" instead of "None") and 205 ("Standard (ingen videresendelse)" instead of "Standard") in Danish translation. Good to hear! This morning with fresh eyes I found my problem. The files in the new directory I created were owned by root and not 'vpopmail'. Changing the ownership fixed things. If you have already made this enhancement, it would be nice if the system provided more a clue about this, by reporting that key files are not readable, either to the webserver error log, or to the screen. I realize that this is an edge case since under normal use the system would never put itself into this kind of state. Mark -- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hello, I'm in the process of moving mailing lists managed by qmailadmin 1.0.2 to a new domain and have run into a problem. Using 'vqadmin', I can see the password of the postmaster account for the domain. However, when trying to login with the password, "Invalid login" is returned, although the password is correct. If I intentionally put a typo in the domain, I do get a specific message that the domain does not exist. My question is: What logic is being used to generate the message that the login is invalid? Some other part of my setup besides the password must be incorrect. Also, if there is documentation on how-to rename a domain that I missed, I'd be interested in a pointer. Thanks! ### Incidentally you may have a related Cross-Site-Scripting vulnerability because the wrong domain value is echo-ed back to the browser without being escaped. Someone could create their own HTML page on your site. Try this on your install: /cgi-bin/qmailadmin?domain=<input type="text" value="creating a form on your site!"> Mark |
