Hi, I have a site where permissions need to be very restrictive. In fact, unregistered users should only have the possibility to log in or to read stories in the category "Public Display." Can anyone one the core team summarise the position on NukePac? I've read posts on postnuke.com and the NukePac site all of which ask interesting questions, but there are no real answers... NP seems to have been re-architected to use modules and 'CrossNuke' which centralises all the evil hacks to the PM core into one place... I got the impression from the posts I read, that NP's author is keen to support PHP-Nuke (and others) and not-at-all keen to put effort into 'clean' integration with PN. Would the PN team entertain the idea of integrating 'CrossNuke' into PN so we can use the NP features without creating compatability issues? Regards, Paul Tetley |

It's not easily done with the main menu. What you would need to do is add it to the link in the block itself (includes/blocks/menu.php) or you could simply use an html block to cover what you want to do. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Pegram" <cra...@ya...> To: <pos...@li...> Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 11:51 AM Subject: [Post-nuke-users] target links in left blocks > How do I get the Main Menu to retain a link formatted > as: > > http://www.saomeplace.net/" target="_blank > > > It keeps stripping the quotes when you go back an edit > the Main Menu block again. > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Great stuff seeking new owners in Yahoo! That's what I was checking. Just set the unregistered user group to 'overview' with a .* .* component and instance. How do I get the Main Menu to retain a link formatted as: http://www.saomeplace.net/" target="_blank It keeps stripping the quotes when you go back an edit the Main Menu block again. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hello, I am running PN .64 and I'm having an issue with registered users not being able to login with the password they receive in their email. I have received several letters from individuals asking me to reset their passwords so they can login. I go into the admin panel to change the user preferences and change their passwords with something of my creation but even when I do that it still does not work. I am planning to update postnuke at a later date and was hoping to fix the little problem within the .64 framework. Any suggestions? Please feel free to try to register at the site and let me know if it works or not. The address is http://www.progressivenews.org thank you. dl bejarano admin, ROJ |

My company uses PN for our Intranet site, and I would like to know if there is a way to force the users to log in before they can do anything? Maybe have the home page actually be a login screen unless they are already logged in. The problem is, the users submit news, calendar events and post in the forums without logging in. Then we don't know who is responsible for the content. Also, our intranet needs to be accessible to users outside the office, but I need to keep unauthorized people and search engines out. Hi Paul! No answer to this one yet? To remove the right-side Login box: Under 'Administration' select Blocks, View Blocks, find User's Login and hit the Deactivate link. To remove the Logout link in the Main Menu select Blocks, View Blocks, find Main Menu and hit Edit. Find Logout, check the Delete box, and Commit. There's also a Login link in the Who's Online box. You can delete or edit that as above. But that just prevents the block from displaying, it doesn't deactivate registered vs. unregistered user functions. I don't know how that will affect what you want to do. Have a :) day! jb On Sun, 20 Jan 2002, Paul Darius wrote: > Hi all, > > I am just a newbie at PostNuke and just subscribe. > Comment? Hi can anybody give me a hint in which file I can get rid of the "read xx times" note, when displaying news-Module? I searched through modules/News/index.php but there is no "_READS" statement .... And btw, if someone has a hack to get rid of the "posted by..", "written by.." and "date" statements in the search-results it would be very fine to post me a link or the hack itselfs, this would safe me some time :-) thx in advance, Peter -- www.proserver1.at Tel +43 (0)7252 37700 Fax +43 (0)7252 3770022 Notfall: +43 (0)664 4743035 |
