Greetings, I am trying to install pn_713 onto my linux machine. pretty standard config. apache 1.3.24 w/ php 4.1.2. The problem I am having is when I direct my browser to pn_713/html/install.php I can't get past the first "Select Language" screen. I choose "English" and submit but the page does not goto the next screen, it just reloads itself at the "Select Language" screen. anyone ever seen this before? I've installed post nuke on other systems before just fine, am I maybe missing a library or something? |

first to padmaja, i don't think i can be much help except for pointing to the docs, http://docs.postnuke.com/ I'm having some interesting problems with administration. Whenever i commit changes in the Settings part i get a 302 "Found, the document has moved here". "here" links to admin.php when i click t, which is the same page as is in the address bar. this happened both before and after i implemented the hack i describe below. I'm using php 4.1.2 and mysql 3.22.32 . also for anyone interested: i like to be able to access my website without typing in the www. before it, but didn't want to turn the site to intranet mode. here's what i did with .htaccess to make that happen: 1) set 'DirectoryIndex index.html index.php', so unqualified call to the home directory go to index.html (this doesn't call postnuke but keep with me) 2) added 'Redirect /index.html http://www.mysite.com/index.php' so all calls for the homepage go to the www.mysite.com . there may be a better way to do this, especially since this way the browser has to connect twice to the server, once to figure out where to go, then again to get the site. sir i am assigned to create gropus for four different categories, with each group having a unique permissions,i could creat groups, but when i tried to create components and instances of my own to assign to my newly created group members, i am unable to do it, so will you kindly send me a documentation or any help which can provide an examples on how to create and register the components, instances and assign it to the group. thanking you regards padmaja |

The lines are clearly a tad blurred. :) I glanced around a bit as oscommerce, not downloading or installing. OSC appears to be more of an ecommerce-specific implementation of a phpnuke/postnuke style user/admin interface, rather than a general purpose tool. In fact I see mention of poststep as a 'postnuke-modulised' tool. I'm sure in the future there'll be others either converted to pn or designed specifically for pn. Hello all, I'd like to ask you for help in upgrading of PN. I have posted=20 this to forum already but there was no reply that would help. I have my site on http://hevit.d2.cz on PN 0.64. I wanted to make=20 test upgrade first on my test site. So I have used the db from=20 the original site and have put in to my test site. Then I have=20 uploaded all the files version 0.712 and have followed all the=20 instructions.=20 The upgrading itself seemed to pass well, there were no problems.=20 But when I went to see the site (which is at=20 http://ledec.d2.cz/html) I found out that the page is empty, the=20 block titles are where they should be but they are empty too=20 (except Hitbox stats block and Opera block (but the image is not=20 uploaded)). When I log in as admin, it is also empty even my=20 admin block. What should I do? Can you anybody help me, can you give me some=20 advice? I would be very grateful to you. hi
i'm working with postnuke.& trying to upload something
from postnuke(infact i have added some code for
upload)
now when i call the function as upload($file_up) where
file_up is the name of my field in html
(<input type=file name=file_up>)
i get an error like
warning:wrong datatype for second argument in call to
in_array in upload.php line no 71.
& the file u have tried to upload is not allowed.
the line in code its pointing out is

& oi ahve already defined the array.But when i run
this file saperately it works fine.
i don't understand what to do.

Hi, I have had a similar problem with a module I am currently writing. The cause of my problem was output being sent back to the web browser before PostNuke sends it's header. There may be other causes, but this is one I know of. Perhaps check the phplib local.inc file. I have done some further checking and the declaration of themes_get_language() is only in the modules/NS-Languages/api.php file, but I could not find any file that includes this script. I tried forcing an include of this file and it caused quite a few errors about variables being redeclared. So as a result, I have just re-installed the site from scratch and I am rebuilding it. hi all, i have installed PN.71 in my linux box. Now if i need to make a registration form that contains more fields (which suit my needs),do i have any possibility thru browser or any other means.(with out changing the code). plz help me. i'm badly struck, i changed the code to suit my needs & finally it got collapsed- - - nothing is working now. i always get a error like warning:can't add header information -headers already sent by(output started at /modules/NS_user/user.php :244) in /var/wwww/html/pn_71/includes/pnAPI.php on line 996 & i'm don't find any solution for this. but i can understand this error & reason for it. that's because of a redirection done just after writing something to the browser. but i don't find any solution. i'mbadly struck plz help me. tnx prasad |

In the administration section, you have a new Option: "Submit_News". This one is to to configure news submissions. The one to send news as admin is still "Add a story".
