Hi!!! I'm using Postnuke in my web server where I'm also running an Interbase Server and I wonder if there's a way to use this Interbase Server as the Postnuke DB Server rather than the default MySQL Server. Thank you Guille |

Hello everyone. I have set up a PN site for an organization that is taking over normal operations and content management. I installed PN as root and all of the files are owned by root.root, and from time to time I know that they will want to upload graphics for new topics and sections. Does anyone have have any advice on whether or not I can great a new unix group (postnuke) that would have group write permission in the PN tree? Are there any file permission issues that I should address in general? Thanks in advance, --chris /////\\\\\/////\\\\\ Christopher G. Nuke folk, especially developers, Will there be any kind of effort to build in group-level access into the various Postnuke modules? I have installed Postnuke for various organizations and one of the most frequent requests I get is group-level access to web links, downloads, blocks, etc. Group access has been worked into the PN Permissions system, which is great, but there doesn't seem to be a move toward taking advantage of this in any of the distribution modules. Are there any plans for this in the future? Thanks, Kevin |

Two possibly fAQs about the review section. * is it possible to have the review section centered. I'd want the reviews displayed like the regular "stories" are. * I managed to delete Review from the Main box, how do I get it back? /M. --=20 Fake email from this address on the net. Hi I am experiencing a problem in trying to run the 'admin.php' script to configure my PostNuke site. I manage to install PostNuke with no problems, but when I get to the part of trying to run the 'admin.php' script, I just get routed to the 'index.php' script. From what I understand from the install docs, I should be prompted for my admin logon and password at this point. The guest count increases with every click which also seems strange!!! I am installing 714 on a Win2000 machine and my required software specs (mySQL 3.23, PHP 4.2.0) are fine according to the minimum requirements. I would appreciate any help. B.T.W. I tried to install phpNuke to see if the problem would be there too, but it worked fine. Hi All I am trying to install pn_714 on my Win2000 machine. All my required software specs (Apache, mySQL, PHP) are fine according to the minimum requirements. My problem is that when I run /html/install.php, I can't get past the "Select Language" screen. I choose "English" and submit but the page does not goto the next screen, it just reloads itself at the "Select Language" screen. I tried pn_713 but with the same result. If I try to load the /html/admin.php page, I get redirected to the index.php page. I see that there was a similar posting before except that the problem occurred under Linux, so I am hoping it's not an OS issue. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I could sort out this problem. Thanks, Derek. dsc...@si... |

Hello, I am trying PostNuke .713 on my MacOS X machine. Everything works fine, but I have a question. Although I can remove the user login block from the screen, by entering the URL http://<host>/user.php, one can get the screen where he/she can register as a user. My idea on using PostNuke is not for a community per se, but having a flexible system for FAQ, news announcements, etc which is just administered by a couple of admin persons. How can I disable the "registration" possibility? Ringo |

I am running Xitami (latest), mysql 3.23, php 4.2.0, and PN .713 on windows XP.. It installs fine when I turn on the register globals, and turn off the cgi-redirect in the php.ini. If left at their defaults, it wont run.. Anyways, it will install just fine, and I can log in just fine and it will remember and save all of my settings. It even shows the administration option on the menu.. But no matter what, if I click admin, then click on ANY OPTION LISTED, it just comes back access denied. Ive done about 8-10 installs, deleted cookies and cache, used localhost, used the intranet option and not, used a FQDN ( with cjb.net and using my normal IP), and it always says Access denied... Any ideas? Its run correctly once, but only once, and that was in intranet mode.. which I dont want. And since then it just aint going.... And before anyone asks if I am logging in with the correct admin login, yes, it's the only login in the database.the one created by the setup. RevVveD |

Rodney are you using IE6? if so you may need to add your URL to the trusted sites - I have seen this a few times with IE on different systems. My students have been told to check with one of the sites I use PostNuke for. Ady -----Original Message----- From: pos...@li... [mailto:pos...@li...]On Behalf Of Rodney S. Subject: [Post-nuke-users] PostNuke acting strange after clean install on NT I have a NT 4 server with Apache 1.3.24, php 4.20, and MySQL 3.23.49. I install phpBB2 and it works like a charm. I install phpNuke 5.5 and it works like a charm. HOWEVER... when I install PostNuke .713 it gives the appearance of working, except for you can not logon as anyone, or create any accounts. The admin account created during the install is there. (Also have installed this on a Linux service with the same versions of php and MySQL and it works fine and I can not see they have the same php.ini settings) When I logon as the admin account it says it is logging me and "hang tight" then it takes me back to the home page with the logon prompt again. The online block says that there is one member logged in now, but it does not really give me member access. Also every time I click on any link the guest count goes up by one for each click. Every time I try to login as a member the member count goes up my one for each try. I know my php and apache are configured correctly because the phpBB2 and phpNuke working fine. postInfo() works fine as well. I have searched the net looking for an answer, and since there seems to be no dedicated POSTNUKE forums, (but a lot of dedicated phpNuke ones) So I am going to try to posting this here. Please if there are any PostNuke Guru's out there who can help figure this strange one out please respond...
