I do understand the time contraints. I also understand that this is a feature request. The problem is that unless the filters can be named, at least at some point in the future, having multiple filters is almost meaningless. Carson Carson R. You told about a feature request not a problem. I'm sorry but i must choose what i will implement. I cannot implement everything. For the 0.3.3 i didn't complete the filter implementation, and when you think something is easy to do, it's not always true. Named a filter wonder a lot of modifications in the main code and in the database structure, and a lot of modifications it's a lot of houres of work. For the palm-db-tools which add automaticly the "all fileds" view, i'm sorry but i don't support palm-db-tools, it's always Tom but he do that only for you because he doesn't use PalmOS device now. You should wait that some body write a PC application for Pilot-DB. Salut, Marc. > I've had the same problem, I have a feature request in that I think covers these issues. hi ;-) i had the same problems like you, the filters can't be named,=20 changing is possible by defining just a new filter - eventually with=20 a non-search ;-), for deleting it. as far as i can see now the filters are stored within a database, not=20 the whole program the "all fields" setting is a new, not editable setting, probably=20 there are problems with the db-tools which will add a new "all=20 fields" view, or there are problems during conversion from the old=20 databases all in all there are some improvements possible, but nevertheless its=20 a great program - go on tom dyas and marc chalain so long, ciao hermann -----Original Message----- From: Jesper J=F8rgensen [SMTP:j.j...@ge...] Sent: Monday, November 26, 2001 8:48 PM To: pil...@li... How do I name a filter such that I can remember what they do (mine=20 stay named "filter 1", "filter 2" ...? 2. How do I change a filter, e.g. if I mistyped the searcg string? 3. Another question: After upgrading all my databases suddenly have two=20 list views called "All Fields", but only one appears in the "edit list views"=20 dialog. Is that because I have changed column widths prior to the upgrade? How do I get rid=20 of the unwanted view? << File: ATT00000.html >> |

Peter, Fab, Carson, Philipp, ... for the debugging. Hans for his outragous beautiful website. every translators for their work. ... every people for them support. I receive more and more mails of congratulations. You saw some of them in the mailing-list and i recieved others. I think with this version it will be not finished. hi 2 all ;-) downloading and testing the version 0.3.3 (german version) the following occured: - searching for boolean 1 or 0 was possible in 0.3.2, not any more in vers. 0.3.3 - in the sort dialog the heading is SORT_LABEL_CS, former it was "A" and "GK", for ascending/descending or case sensitive search. the following translations were not complete: - in the filter dialog the entry is "add the filter" - in the open database dialog field the entries are "open read write" and "open read edit" feature requests - as possible: - when a database has a long name there is no possibility to check the name (in the heaser only the first 10 or 12 letters are visible), when there are 3 databases with the same letters at the beginning you can't check it, how about the database info dialog when the database is open ? - if a database is opened with write protection, nothing to edit is possible - only the list box opens - you can't change the values, thats right, but opening the list box is confusing - sorting a database for values which are not present in the actual view isn't possible - the "edit filter dialog" should be similar to the "edit view dialog", renaming and saving the entries nevertheless, great work, nearly as good as proffesional databases ... so long, ciao hermann |

Moin Marc, sorry for the late answer. I just tested (here on work) db 0.3.3 14.Nov 2001. I downloaded the new version on Friday and was very impressed that you have taken care of a Handery version with support for higher resolution. Thank for the effort! How could I do the same thing with other software I can get the source code of? E.g. Freecoins, which is another great program? Is there a site anywhere to explain how to? The only obligation you have is that if you give DB to other people, you must point them at the Web site so they can download the source code. |

Better yet, just add "N/A" to the list of selections and you can get back t= o the default this way. LT I guess my 1st 2c wasn't worth 2c. >>> "Larry K. Dear Developers, Thanks for creating Pilot-db and making it freeware. Yesterday, I downloaded Pilot-db, the plugins, and the PC db tools. Was I required to login or register to download or use this software? Thank you. Sincerely, Curt Moeller __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
