I do understand the time contraints. I also understand that this is a feature request. The problem is that unless the filters can be named, at least at some point in the future, having multiple filters is almost meaningless.

You told about a feature request not a problem. I'm sorry but i must choose what i will implement. I cannot implement everything. For the 0.3.3 i didn't complete the filter implementation, and when you think something is easy to do, it's not always true. Named a filter wonder a lot of modifications in the main code and in the database structure, and a lot of modifications it's a lot of houres of work.
For the palm-db-tools which add automaticly the "all fileds" view, i'm sorry but i don't support palm-db-tools, it's always Tom but he do that only for you because he doesn't use PalmOS device now. You should wait that some body write a PC application for Pilot-DB.

i had the same problems like you, the filters can't be named,=20
changing is possible by defining just a new filter - eventually with=20
a non-search ;-), for deleting it.

as far as i can see now the filters are stored within a database, not=20
the whole program

the "all fields" setting is a new, not editable setting, probably=20
there are problems with the db-tools which will add a new "all=20
fields" view, or there are problems during conversion from the old=20
databases

all in all there are some improvements possible, but nevertheless its=20
a great program - go on tom dyas and marc chalain

I receive more and more mails of congratulations. You saw some of them in the mailing-list and i recieved others. I think with this version it will be not finished.
Now every people can help us, you can only tell about pilot-DB around of you, on forums or with other Palm users. You can yet write a mail to a Palm site's webmaster about us. I think Palm users can win to know Pilot-DB if it's not the perfect database tools, it's a good one.
You can find Pilot-DB on some others website:
Palmgear, Handango, Tucows... you can write a comment or your point of vue, it could be a good advertising for us.

hi 2 all ;-)

downloading and testing the version 0.3.3 (german version) the 
following occured:

- searching for boolean 1 or 0 was possible in 0.3.2, not any more in 
vers. 0.3.3
- in the sort dialog the heading is SORT_LABEL_CS, former it was "A" 
and "GK", for ascending/descending or case sensitive search.

the following translations were not complete:

- in the filter dialog the entry is "add the filter"
- in the open database dialog field the entries are "open read write" 
and "open read edit"

feature requests - as possible:

- when a database has a long name there is no possibility to check 
the name (in the heaser only the first 10 or 12 letters are visible), 
when there are 3 databases with the same letters at the beginning you 
can't check it, how about the database info dialog when the database 
is open ?

- if a database is opened with write protection, nothing to edit is 
possible - only the list box opens - you can't change the values, 
thats right, but opening the list box is confusing

- sorting a database for values which are not present in the actual 
view isn't possible

- the "edit filter dialog" should be similar to the "edit view 
dialog", renaming and saving the entries

nevertheless, great work, nearly as good as proffesional databases 
...

    db2.prc for the old Pilot-DB databases (version 0.2.x)
    db-MobileDB.prc for the old MobileDB databases (with only string fields)

    csv2pdb.exe to convert CSV file to *.pdb file under Windows

The Handera support wonder a lot of works, i still have some trouble with it. There isn't simple way. I think the best it's to read my code source and in particular the main.c, list.c and util.c files.

No. DB is Open Source software made available under the GNU General Public 
License (GNU GPL). The only obligation you have is that if you give DB to 
other people, you must point them at the Web site so they can download the 
source code.

Here's a work around:

Add the item "(none)" to your list selection.  This could be used as a filt=
er as easily as anything else.
