They were removed from 0.3.3 because it some internal modifications were necessary that would make scripts from the snapshot incompatible with the new version. Now that the changes have been made, the script engine should be very stable, and will be possible to expand the engine and improve functionality without breaking old scripts. -Scott |

sorry the 0.3.3 have a bug and cannot support the driver plugins. There was a bug in the plugins and in the main application. I corrected the trouble. Marc, Is the sourceforge CVS for DB up-to-date? I noticed that my en.rcp changes didn't make it into 0.3.3, nor did they get submitted to CVS. I can submit by myself, of course, but since I can't compile DB (still fighting with "missing" .h files), I'd rather give you the chance to try things out first. Let me know how you would like to proceed. A quick user-type question: I have a Palm IIIxe (16 gray levels). I tried the color version of DB, and things look pretty nice, but I would like to darken some of the gray levels (title line should be black, alternating lines in the view a bit darker). Any way to do that without recompiling? Mike -- Mike Ressler mik...@al... OK, I'm lame: I don't have my own website ... |

I downloaded the latest version (0.3.3)onto a Visor Prism. Both of the English version (color and B/W) with Mobile DB, program loads okay, I can read help notes, but when I select a DB, I get a fatal alert. Also the plugin does not show up to select in any of the versions I loaded. I then downloaded the snapshot version (2001-11-07) and it works. It appears that the size of the en-color file is 117kb, but the size of the 3.3 en-color file is 119kb, even though they have the same name. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Is there a way to filter based on a boolean field? What do I search for? The pdb's have 0x00 and 0x01, but searching for 0 or 1 doesn't work. Also, is there a way to set a specific filter and multi-column sort for each list-view? i.e.- can list view 1 have a filter of A=1 and a sort of A, B, C, while list view 2 has a filter of A=2 and a sort of C, B, D? It seems that filter and sort are independent of list-view. The reason I'm asking is I have a db with a boolean which signifies one of two states for a record. It would be nice if view 1 showed those records with unchecked booleans and view 2 showed records with checked booleans, and checking a boolean would have the effect of "moving" a record from view 1 to view 2 automatically because of the filters. And of course, it would be nice if each view had it's own sort criteria. Just a small wish-list from a guy who wishes he had time to mess around with your source himself! BTW, thanks for making date columns "nullable" in 0.3.3! Awesome. Thanks! |

Hello all. In the previous release, 0.3.2, I used "1" or "0" to filter on a boolean field. It doesn't work anymore. I tried true/True/TRUE but didn't find anything. What is the trick ? I retried yesterday to configure a palm development environnement on my Debian Linux box, by deinstalling all related Debian packages to manualy install the last versions of pilrc and prc-tools. I got one step further but ended with problems recompiling prc-tools. Can someone tell me where live this include files : libiberty.h and bfd.h ? TIA. Fab. |

????? Pilot-DB 0.3.3 is NOT a beta version, it's completely stable, it's a release. If you do this discrimination because there is a 0 in the version number, this number is here only to discribe the version application kernel. I remember to you that Pilot-DB is under GPL. Pilot-DB is under a version number 1.0.0 for a long time, and for every users it's NOT a beta version. dev...@tu... wrote: > Dear Author > > Thank you for your submission to Tucows PDA. hi 2 all ;-) my filters proposal lead to a lot of answers and reactions, i know that sometimes an seemingly easy to implent feature is sometimes hard to realize, my proposals are only _proposals_ ,for the wish list and not a bug report or anything like else !! Jesper is right, you can't overwrite a filter with a blank searching filter, the old one still exist, but it doesn't matter as long as they can simply been overwritten - it's nearly the same as deleting it marc and tom are doing a great job with DB, i agree whith Jesper : Thanks for a great program! and thanks for doing all the hard work under GPL! ;-) i don't critizise the program or the work they've done !!! i tell only the impressions i have and the things i'm missing most when i work with DB. the aim is to make a big program bigger !!! ;-) so long, a happy DB user ... ciao hermann |

First of all: I agree that this is a great program. My preferred = database program for the Palm and it does not matter whether the filters work or not. Being a software = programmer myself, I also understand that some seemingly "easy" change might actually be very = hard and time consuming to implement. One of you said that "all-fields" should have something to do with = db-tools. I don't think so: I haven't used these tools. I simply upgraded the Palm device with DB = 0.3.3 and all the databases I had on it at the time of upgrading now got the extra "all fields" = view. Re filters: I have also tried to "redefine" a filter to search for the = null string (by leaving the search field blank), but it doesn't work: the filter still works as I made it the first time. = It seems to me that a filter can only be changed to search for something else being a non-null string. I don't = know how much my opinion can count here, but I would propose to make it possible to delete and = edit a filter as the first thing and then perhaps wait enabling filter naming (given that it takes a long = time to implement). Deleting and editing a filter is hard to miss if you want to use filters at all, = while filter renaming is not as important (in my humble opinion, of course). Thanks for a great program! and thanks for doing all the hard work under = GPL! ;-) /Jesper ----- Oprindelig meddelelse -----=20 Fra: "Chalain Marc" <mar...@vo...> Til: <car...@fi...> Cc: <Pil...@li...> Sendt: 27. november 2001 09:57 Emne: RE: [pilot-db-list] DB 0.3.3 filters You told about a feature request not a problem. Hi, I just downloaded 0.3.3 release - and I'd like to say that it is very stable and usefull, keep on execelent job! I only discovered one issue that is strange to me - I installed information and Mobile DB plug-ins, but for some reason MobileDB does not appear in the plug-in list, so I can not open any MobileDB database. (I use Palm Vx, OS 3.5.3 and I tried both B/W and color-iconic versions). Has anybody faced such behaviour? Alex PS. information plug-in works fine. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp |
