pdb2csv and csv2pdb are command line tools. The docs included in the package explain how to use it. Hi, i have just installed pilot-DB and have copied a db-file to my desktop for conversion into csv format. The necessary tools I have downloaded from your website and transferd into the WINNT-folder (i.e. pdb2csv, csv2pdb, msvcrt.dll, qt-mt230nc.dll and qdb_converter.exe). I have also read the manual. However, when I tried to doubleclick on the Pdb2csv file a window appears for the fraction of a second and is gone. The same happens if I use the execute function. What do I have to do to actually convert a file into csv (where do I have to store the files required, which commands are required, how do I have to start the programm? I would be very grateful for a fast reply. Best regards Peter Eckerle |

Date and Note fields should work fine. The metafile you describe is useless: when using pdb2csv, the metafile parameter is only used for format settings, like date format (DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY...) and the separator to use in the CSV file. Field names and types are ignored as pdb2csv extracts such information from the PDB itself. Something may fix your "record is corrupt" problem: you can try to rebuild the database from the option menu. If your note fields contains carriage return, you may have to use the extended CSV mode. here is a sample metafile to use with pdb2csv: extended on separator ; format time "%H:%M" format date "%d/%m/%Y" Thomas Bill Farr wrote: Creating a CSV would be fine. I see that the pdbtools don't support all the field types. Date & Note are two that I am using that it looks like I have to use string. I may be able to find a way around that when I import it. The database was created with DBv. 1.0.2 & I have just upgraded to 1.0.3 a few days ago with no problems. When I run "pdb2csv contact.pdb contact.txt contactmeta.txt" it returns "contact.pdb: record is corrupt" & no file is created. I actually don't have any roms, and I'm not sure they would work with my emulator anyway. Are you using version 1.0.3, or the (currently) unstable snapshot of the beta version? -Scott |

Howdy everybody, Pilot-DB is incredible! I love it. :) However, since upgrading to a new handheld I've noticed a couple of bugs. The first occurs on the main screen when creating a database. When I click the new database icon, it tends to reset the device. When a reset doesn't happen (which I can't trigger right at the moment), it displays the dialog but where you let it know what type of database you'll be creating it gives your normal options and then a long line of garbage characters. The second bug occurs when trying to use the D-Pad to navigate through a database summary. Pressing "down" scrolls down through the records, but when you let go of the D-Pad it returns to the first screen. So the only way to navigate is by searching, which isn't too bad because it's really dang fast. Is anybody seeing these problems on devices other than the Tungsten T? -- ;; Erik Arneson <er...@aa...> JD, Ashland Lodge No. 23 ;; ;; GPG Key ID: 2048R/8B4CBC9C RAM, Siskiyou Chapter No. 21 ;; ;; <http://erik.arneson.org/> <http://www.aarg.net/mason> ;; -- ;; Erik Arneson <er...@aa...> JD, Ashland Lodge No. 23 ;; ;; GPG Key ID: 2048R/8B4CBC9C RAM, Siskiyou Chapter No. 21 ;; ;; <http://erik.arneson.org/> <http://www.aarg.net/mason> ;; |

Hi everybody, I have another problem with default value (Text field) with last version (1.0.3). In fact many characters are added at the default value I set. In fact, I went to just a look on the source and I think the problem is in the design.c line 1408. I think the following line : SchemaFields[FieldNumProperties].data.string.defaultValue+min(32,textLength) = '\0' ; must be added just after the following line : StrNCopy( SchemaFields[FieldNumProperties].data.string.defaultValue, FldGetTextPtr(fld), min(32,textLength)); More over a problem I reported in one my emails is already present: The find processing in note field doesn't work. Did you have to try to resolve this problem. Thank you for your help. Dominique BURBAN |

Hi Everyone, I've just added the french documentation and prepared the german documentation. Marc, I've changed your french doc to include the background image and mainstyle.css file. I hope that was OK. Thanks, Hans |
