Hi, If I got to "List View" menu in the german version the "Edit list Views" menu item shows just "XXXXXXXXX". By the way, in the english "Edit list Views" menu item, why is the "l" in "list" a small letter and "V" in View in Capitals? Thanks, Hans. p.s. I also got the virus alert. The attachment was deleted automatically. |

I got the notice but I don't remember getting the original infected one. The message was sent from a typical McAfee group shield finding and cleaning a message. A copy of this message is sent to the sender and the recipient of the message that was infected. I've just tried out beta 5 with the new icons and have to admit they don't do much for me. Without a little popup to tell me what they are, I just don't feel comfortable with them, even though I know what they are from previous versions. Can those little popups be added (pop up after about 1 sec) or is that not feasible? Also, in the non-icon version, I have noticed that the buttons are _much_ wider than they need to be. For example, the "New" button on the main DB page has a width of 29 pixels, but when I use RsrcEdit to auto-compute the width, it comes up with 21 pixels, which leads to a much more compact looking button. Perhaps the button widths (and maybe the heights) just need some tinkering to reduce the clutter on the bottom of the screen, rather than icons. (Though I would still be okay with icons if they had popups.) Mike -- Mike Ressler mik...@al... OK, I'm lame: I don't have my own website ... |

the beta 5 is available. you will find a version with icons, return to me your point of view. Should i continue on this way or not? If you want others icons, send me your creations (bmp 12x12) (i don't like my "Cancel" button). I already found 2 "little bugs": * when you create a new record the iconic "Modify" button isn't hidden. * when you change the database with the filter setting, it's always setting. I corrected them, you will find the correction in the future snapshot. Th plugin list displays only the plugins avaibles in the current situation (AutoStart, Chooser, ListView or EditView). it is normal, you see only information in the ListView plugins list. In the future all plugins will have a about box (or at least it name) in the plugins about menu (in the Chooser). Hello, today I tried db-0_3_2beta4 with plugin-0_3_2beta2. I used the db-MobileDB.prc and information.prc. All my Databases are MobileDB Format. I tried db-de.prc and db-en.prc. Rgardless of size of database if i start a find i get a fatal exception. Other functions are OK. I have for test purposes created a small DB database. Here the find does not chrash. Further I have a question to the plugin interface. If I go to options plugin I see only the information plugin. If I install DB2.prc additionally , I see also only information. Does this mean I should only see plugins that are not specific to a database like db-MobileDB.prc. with kind regards Klaus Leiss |

Hello Marc, on Monday you mentioned that you would recompile the plugins for 0_3_2beta4. Since I would like to try the beta but at the moment have no development environment i must use precompiled binaries. The last version at sourceforge is still from 2001-07-14. With kind regards Klaus Leiss |

Hello Oliver, I think this is a good idea, I have the same problem with a 3000 Record Database. At the moment I search for a record that I can remember and that is near the one sought, and than scroll to the desired record. What i would further suggest is incremental searching. That means if I enter a P go to the first record starting with P. If I than enter a O go to the first record starting with PO and so on. If I enter a Backspace start the sequence over. with kind regards Klaus Leiss |

It is used by the "go to top" and "go to bottom" menu commands. The only thing that would need to be coded would be a search for what row to jump to. |

Hi! I just had an idea for db. I tried to find a certain CD in my CD database on my Palm, but I wasn't sure about the spelling. So I wanted to move to the rows beginnig with the letter 'P' (it's sorted by artist). The problem is that this database is fairly large (almost 1700 entries) and it takes some time to get there by scrolling. What do you think of a function that allows you to jump to the first entry that starts with a certain letter that is entered in the graffitti field when in list view? (Sort of like pressing a letter in a Windows pulldown menu). I think it should use the field that the list was sorted by (or, if it's unsorted, the first field of the view). Would such a function be hard to implement? What does everone think about this? Would this be useful for anyone else? Regards, Oliver -- Oliver Goetz, mailto:oli...@we...
