Patches item #1002850, was opened at 2004-08-03 15:38 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562404&aid=1002850&group_id=81260 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Eloi George (adarkling) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Various new features Initial Comment: Check out http://realvidreams.com/933/index.php?module=phpwsbb&PHPWSBB_MAN_OP=view&PHPWS_MAN_ITEMS[]=5 Admin Login: phpwsbb password: sandbox A lot of files were changed, so I figured it might be easier if I just sent you the files themselves. I can create patch files if you'd prefer it that way. Stuff I Put In... -UserIds have been added to the db for coordination with the mod_phpwsbb_user_info table. (They'll also be needed if a user changes their name) -Local & Remote Avatars with Image Gallery picklist. Uses the PHPWS_IMGLib class I proposed for inclusion with the core classes. -Modifiable User Rankings dependent on post counts. -User Signatures. -ForumView Last Post contains links that'll take you to the last posted message. -Message Reply Quoting. -phpbb-style message view template. -old-style message view template has been updated. Look ma, no tables! The template files are located in the "alt_template" directory. I guess I could've built in some kind of switch, but I just thought of that. If you want to see what it looks like in my Sandbox, change your layout from "Purple Veil" to "Default". Or just log in as user "rex2" w/password "sandbox". -Forum & Thread views have separate templates for top and bottom now. -Forum view displays description now. -Got rid of the URL brackets & fixed it so that thread display still works without them. -Moved uservar settings to mod_phpwsbb_user_info table to reduce # of queries needed to extract settings. -Optimized a couple SQL queries ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562404&aid=1002850&group_id=81260 |

I'm in the middle of translations to Dutch, so I was trying every option out. Also banned an IP to check things out (nice option!). But when the banned IP tries to submit a posting the system throws a very nasty failure to that user. It's a complete blank screen with the following error: ---------------------------------------------------- Fout Module: phpwsbb Functie: PHPWSBB_Message::_edit() 23/05/2004 23:23:01 ?Access to edit message was denied due to your IP Address or username being banned. ----------------------------------------------------- I think, although the message should be given, this could be better. I don't know if this is the supposed way to give that error but it seems not. How about using the custom errorpages from phpWS itself? ('Fout' is Dutch for Error) They can easily be edited by de siteadmins (and in the right language too). Hope you can shed some light here. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Don, I'm very impressed with the new version. I tested it on a hub site and all looked well. Unfortunately, I won't find time before Friday to test it on a branch site or using table prefixes. I'm leaving in a few hours to head home for the holiday weekend. But, I'm sure Singletrack probably already tested that anyway - he seems to find all my mistakes in that area at least. With that being said, I'm still confident enough to give you a green light for release. Just wanted to drop a note welcome Greg Meiste and Noah Miller to the testing flock. You might know Greg as 'blindman1344' in #phpwebsite and a fellow module developer. Noah is a good friend of mine from high school and college and has recently begun playing with phpWS. Thanks to everyone again for their help. Now CHOP CHOP! If this release isn't out by Friday, no bathroom breaks for a week! Don. --=20 "We cannot let terrorists and rogue nations hold this nation hostile or hold our allies hostile." George W. Bugs item #930013, was opened at 2004-04-05 15:38 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562402&aid=930013&group_id=81260 Category: Interface Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Greg Meiste (blindman1344) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Ban username link for guest Initial Comment: The ban username link obviously doesn't work with a guest user. Probably should have some check in place so that link doesn't appear when the poster is a guest. The only option needed for guest posts is the ban IP link IMHO. Besides that, CVS version looks great!
