Bugs item #1047861, was opened at 2004-10-15 17:34 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562402&aid=1047861&group_id=81260 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: rck (rck000) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Link to Forum doesn't work Initial Comment: All Forums link to http://www.kiesler.at/bbforum.html instead of the forum. The Breadcrumb goes something like Forums :: Dieses & Jenes When I click on "Dieses & Jenes", I get an error, because it points to http://www.kiesler.at/bbforum.html. When I click on "Forums", everything is allright. This is true for all the forums. I am running today's CVS version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562402&aid=1047861&group_id=81260 |

You could put an explanation in the thread itself but on a fast moving thread that might go in too late with people posting while you think up a tactful response so often it's better to lock and then explain. However, even moderators and admins can't post after a lock. Can we make it so that they can so that they can post an explanation for the locking after the event. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562405&aid=1044661&group_id=81260 |

That's just one example, I'm sure there may be others where an admin might want to raise the awareness of a post. Initial Comment: A couple of friends I conned into help test the module complained that their first post to the forum was actually labeled as "Post: 2" in the author column. I went to the database table to check and sure enough, users who hadn't posted yet were shown as having one post, meaning that their first post would be #2. What's odd is that my user didn't have that problem and my first post was labeled as number one. It was a fresh install of phpwsbb. The users were added before phpwsbb was installed. All users were given as least some permissions to the module. OK. Things seem to have quieted down. There is one open bug left in the tracker and it actually looks more like an RFE to me. Shaun can you please comment. Otherwise we may be ready for a release. I should probably do a test upgrade of my own, perhaps I'll do that tonight. Consider this a last call. I'm leaving for a week in Florida on Sunday and want to get this out before I go so it's not hanging over my head. --=20 Don Seiler do...@se... Just take the code that creates the block and stick it in the end of the _list() function, more or less. This gives a rough approximation of a feature of one of my favourite bits of forum software... See http://www.minibb.net/ forums/ That has the Forum list at the top, latest posts below from all the forums combined but with an icon differentiating them. It's a nice start page for a forum as you can see what's just been posted across the whole board. Anyway, obviously we'd need to style it in a proper table with a template but hack the code in and give it a try yourself. I find it quick to use and stops the forum list from just being a list of forums with little changing. It's not a bad way to almost negate the need for tracking new posts since the last visit too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=562405&aid=1039290&group_id=81260 |

Also, one has square brackets around it and the other doesn't. 2) 'Edit user' - in the AUTHOR column. Since those two are effectively the same thing, they should be the same settings style icon.
