Is there any sufficiently simple example code for generating a wikipage from outside of the wiki? For example, if I wanted to generate a page for every user in a database - since I have their name, a url of an image, and some other data I think it would be cool to generate FirstnameLastname pages. Maybe this is a bad example because of the Generate Homepage thing that's coming with the user stuff.. but this could also be useful for generating pages for images or whatever. a |

Hi All, I'm developing a new PHPWiki plugin that takes an index page of links structured using a list and spits out page compiled from all the linked pages, with chapter and sub-section headings formatted according to their list depth. The problem is that I don't know whether its better to write my own parser to convert the page, or use the existing InlineParser and BlockParser classes. The code PHPWiki uses to parse its markup is quite complex and I'd be grateful if somone could give me some pointers. For more information please see attached plugin script. TIA... Ricardo |

I would like to add an "iconv" function to phpwiki, in order to have Esperanto characters written using the "cx ux" convention be rendered as utf-8 characters. (The wikipedia does this, for instance). I spent a couple of hours last week crawling around inside the code trying to figure out where something like this should be inserted. Any suggestions? Thanks! -- Steven D. Brewer <li...@bi...> http://revo.bierfaristo.com/sbrewer.html Arbo krakanta venton ne timas. |

Choose the printer style for any page. In mozilla, go to the view->use style and choose 'printer' for a page more suitable for printing. I would imagine there is a similar way to do this in IE. Oh, and this only works form 1.3-series phpwikis, not the old 1.2 version. P. On 07/28/03, Mike wrote: > Is there a way to setup a page for a "Printable view" ? I can't get phpwiki to do anything but this: lib/FileFinder.php:82: Fatal[256]: locale: file not found WikiFatalError lib/FileFinder.php:82: Fatal[256]: locale: file not found Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/users/nsayer/public_html/xmpcr.com/wiki/lib/prepend.php on line 40 I'm running php 4.2.3 and phpwiki 1.3.1. I pretty much just untarred it, set an admin user and password and surfed to the index page. I'm sort of incredulous that I'm the first person to ever run across this problem, or that my setup is so amazingly unique, but the mailing list archives and google only find one page that describes this issue, and it's in korean. :-( |

Hello again, When posting a page, I used the verbatim tags to allow me to use * and # in the text (So it didn't get converted to bullets and numbered lists)... but the final result is a page that shows the actual tags <verbatim> and <pre> rather than suppressing the tag and just giving the desired effect to the text... Any ideas on why this is, can it be fixed? Thanks, Mike |

A couple more questions, if someone wouldn't mind helping me, I'd appreciate it. 1) Page comments - Is there a plugin, or something, that I can use for page comments in phpwiki? I see them on other wiki's, but I'm not sure if I've seen it on a phpwiki before. By page comments, I mean the small comment block on the bottom where people can leave small comments, on each page. 2) Password protecting an individual page - I'm thinking this can be done using .htaccess, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it... requiring username/password for access to certain pages, like mysite.com/wiki/index.php/ProtectedPage ... Thanks in advance, Mike |

Hello, I am trying to upload files, mainly images, through the wiki... I'm hoping someone can help. I upload an image, say 123.jpg through the wikiadmin page, but it's not 'going anywhere'... it acts like it uploaded, it says that it created a page, version one, with the file name, but nothing else. If I click the link, I get a message back (from the browser) stating page contains no data. I want to be able to upload images through the wiki for use on the wiki... btw, I ssh in to the box and can't find the file I 'uploaded'... I'm assuming it's stored in the database? Any help is appreciated, Mike |

I'm getting: Fatal error : Cannot redeclare manglexmlidentifier() (previously declared in /Library/WebServer/Documents/traumwerk/lib/stdlib.php:67) in /Library/WebServer/Documents/traumwerk/lib/stdlib.php on line 67 from the visualwiki plugin.. I had some trouble getting it to work on OS X - my first problem was that I was using the graphviz installer rather than Fink, so it was in the wrong directory. my second problem was not configuring plugincache-config.php with the right directory name for the wiki. Any advise? peace a |

It's certainly tangential to phpwiki, but I thought someone else might find use in a IRC chump bot -> phpwiki gateway I created. It listens for URLs spoken in IRC and automatically addes them, their titles, and any comments to a specfied phpwiki page. It's allowed a group of friends and I to catalog the URLs tossed out daily in IRC. Info and download available here: http://ry4an.org/unblog/msg00018.html -- Ry4an Brase - http://ry4an.org |

I asked a while ago: > I currently use gdbm as my phpwiki backend, but for various > reasons I want > to change that to a mySQL backend. So what I thought of doing > was taking a > ZipDump of the entire wiki, changing the backend (setting up > the database > schema, changing the entry script, blah blah) and use the > loadfile action on > the new (empty) wiki to restore the wiki to its original state. > > Currently this just doesn't work. Well, not as I expected, at > any rate. The > first revision is saved as version one, and subsequent > revisions have to be > merged by hand. Well, I hacked something together by chopping in lib/loadsave.php and lib/WikIDB.php. In summary, I commented out most of SavePage (all the bits with checking to see if we want to merge or overwrite pages) and just save the revisions as they come out the RFC822 files. Then in WikiWD.php I cut out the sanity checking of revision numbers and overwrite existing revisions. This is, of course, directly counter to the philosophy that old revisions are read only, but this was a temporary hack and I wanted to exactly restore a wiki. In detail, here are the diffs: (foo.restore is my special hacked version of foo.php, of course) -bash-2.05b$ diff loadsave.php loadsave.php.restore 376a377,380 > echo $pageinfo['pagename'] . ', ' . $pageinfo['version']; > $page = $dbi->getPage($pagename); > $page->save($content, $pageinfo['version'], $versiondata); > /* 483a488 > */ -bash-2.05b$ diff WikiDB.php WikiDB.php.restore 21a22 > define('WIKIDB_RESTORE', 1); 615,621c616,628 < $latestversion = $backend->get_latest_version($pagename); < $newversion = $latestversion + 1; < assert($newversion >= 1); < < if ($version != WIKIDB_FORCE_CREATE && $version != $newversion) { < $backend->unlock(); < return false; --- > if (WIKIDB_RESTORE) { > $latestversion = 0; > $newversion = $version; > } else { > > $latestversion = $backend->get_latest_version($pagename); > $newversion = $latestversion + 1; > assert($newversion >= 1); > > if ($version != WIKIDB_FORCE_CREATE && $version != $newversion) { > $backend->unlock(); > return false; > } Then for each wiki I first created an IdontExist page, made its content "<?plugin WikiForm action=loadfile?>", logged in as admin & hit the button. It seemed to work OK, although I'm still checking out the nitty gritties & corners of my wikis. frank |
