Has anyone been able to get the Ticket# to come through in the email receipts to the client? I have tried adding the $t_id variable in several places to no avail. Mitchell K. Thanks to everyone who responded. I Uninstalled and reinstalled the following RPMs: MySQL-shared-3.23.42.rpm php-mysql-4.0.4pl1.rpm php-4.0.4pl1.rpm I then restarted the system and it worked fine. <html> Mitchell,<br> Your problem is not virtual servers. It's PHP. Here's a dialogue that happened earlier.<br> <br> Matt<br> -----------------------<br> Hi Scott,<br> As I just emailed to another person, PHP is not installed with mySQL support on your server. I use Debian, and for me I could use apt-get install php-mysql to install PHP with mySQL support. It's possible that there's a rpm around that will do the same thing, but as I'd rather not use Red Hat I can't say for sure. If not, then you're going to have to compile PHP4 from source with mySQL support. This is not as scary as it sounds - the source documentation will tell you what you need to do.<br> If the writer(s) of phphelpdesk are around, is it worth putting something like this in the/a FAQ? Perhaps it's just me, but I've noticed two emails today about the same issue. I don't read this list too closely, but I imagine there's a lot more of this going around.<br> And finally, I reckon phphelpdesk is great, and I'm using it in my area, with 250 or so users. I've even got a wish list, but I reckon I'll save that for later :-)<br> Alister<br> At 03:24 PM 10/10/2001, scott bakalor wrote: <br> ok I installed the php helpdesk and got errors<br> installed to <a href="http://www.hijinksdesign.com/support/" eudora="autourl"><font color="#0000FF"><u>http://www.hijinksdesign.com/support/</a><br> </u></font>Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /home/DESIGN-WEB/www/support/includes/connect.inc.php on line 10<br> <br> any help is appreciated I used the red hat rpm to install php-4.0.4pl1<br> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br> <br> To get this working on Red Hat 7.1 I instaled the php-4.0.4pl1 rpm then installed the MySQL-shared-3.23.42 rpm as this has a file that will be needed later. Greetings. I need some help getting the helpdesk setup. In the INSTALL file there were no instructions for setting up the Apache directives for the helpdesk. Everything else seemed to go okay including setting up mysql. I modified my httpd.conf file like so: <VirtualHost 172.31.1.32> DocumentRoot /websites/helpdesk ServerName helpdesk ServerAdmin mk...@pa... <Directory /websites/helpdesk> AllowOverride None order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog /websites/helpdesk/logs/errors.log CustomLog /websites/helpdesk/logs/access.log combined </VirtualHost> When I browse to http://helpdesk I get the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /websites/helpdesk/includes/connect.inc.php on line 10 My general.conf.php looks like this: <snip> /* If you are using http://someaddress.com/phphelpdesk, then you must set the base url to "http://someaddress.com/phphelpdesk/" Notice the '/' at the end you must put that in there. If you are using a virtual host such as http://phphelpdesk.somecompany.com, then you can just leave it empty with the quotes touching ""; */ $g_base_url = ""; //base url location // you HAVE to set your domain name here, with no HTTP: // or / at the end or anything... $g_domain = "helpdesk"; // this is the path from the last part of the $g_base_url // parameter. I have the helpdesk setup and working and I log in with admin/admin. when i go to the preferences or try to setup anything it puts a long string in the username and makes everything non workable. the string is the session ID i believe. Is their a way to stop this? here is the URL http://completeint.com/webwork/index.php go ahead and try it and you will see what i mean. |

Yes, see in the archive of this list I documented about a month ago how to enter tickets into the system with qmail installed. Sendmail has not been written into a fancy document yet, but anyone with sendmail knowledge at all should be able to set it up right. This is assuming that your system can generate emails. Matt |

You are more than welcome to use Oracle, however, the program will need many changes. The database code is hard coded and thus limited. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... no, I did it just the way you suggest using a Cobalt RaQ as the server with various helpdesks on there as sub domains i.e. helpdek.company1.com, helpdesk.company2.com etc and then I created db's in the same naming convention helpdeskcompany1 and edited the config file for each site accordingly - end result an outsourced online Helpdesk RaQ. I've successfully set up helpdesk on my RedHat 6.2 machine and am trying to get the e-mail notification working. I'm pretty new at this whole thing. Do I need to set up a user or other mail settings on the machine, or does editing general.conf.php take care of all that? I've set the e-mail as "te...@la..." which is a valid e-mail alias on our mail server. Thanks, <><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><<><>< Jay M. Hello, If I create a regular user in PhpHelpdesk he can by default see all the tickets of his department. Ok so I only want him to see its own tickets but when I disable the see department tickets feature he also does not see his own tickets Can anyone give me some clues why it does it or how to change it ? Kind Regards Tijl |

Well I don't know if it's supposed to do this or not, but I have it set up to email me when a ticket is assigned to me. Here's what I did. First, I granted the user the authority to assign tickets, I also granted them the authority to authorize tickets. Then, I modified the submit ticket form to default to "mail: yes". Since I am the only person who picks up tickets, and I have an email address associated with my name, it emails me when a ticket is created. The user can choose to receive an email receipt if they would like (standard behavior), but the user could also check the Mail:no, which would force it not to email me a new ticket. I'm not sure where phphelpdesk finds who to allow tickets to be assigned to, but I am the only one in that list, so it defaults to me. I also would like to see the users' name. Maybe we could modify it to use a config file to pick what fields to display. That way other people could pick and choose what they want. To get this working on Red Hat 7.1 I instaled the php-4.0.4pl1 rpm then installed the MySQL-shared-3.23.42 rpm as this has a file that will be needed later. Then the last step is to install the php-mysql-4.0.4pl1 rpm. All these can be found at www.rpmfind.net installing these will allow php helpdesk to run standard no modifications. - Scott |

I'd like it to email an address (which I'd make point to the four IT staff in my area) when a new job is submitted. More importantly, with 43 jobs on the queue, I'm going to see if I can modify the page to allow the display of each user's first and last name. Hi Scott, As I just emailed to another person, PHP is not installed with mySQL support on your server. This is not as scary as it sounds - the source documentation will tell you what you need to do. If the writer(s) of phphelpdesk are around, is it worth putting something like this in the/a FAQ? Perhaps it's just me, but I've noticed two emails today about the same issue. I don't read this list too closely, but I imagine there's a lot more of this going around. And finally, I reckon phphelpdesk is great, and I'm using it in my area, with 250 or so users. I've even got a wish list, but I reckon I'll save that for later :-) Alister At 03:24 PM 10/10/2001, scott bakalor wrote: >ok I installed the php helpdesk and got errors > >installed to http://www.hijinksdesign.com/support/ > >Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in >/home/DESIGN-WEB/www/support/includes/connect.inc.php on line 10 > > >any help is appreciated I used the red hat rpm to install php-4.0.4pl1 > >_______________________________________________ >Phphelpdesk-help mailing list >Php...@li... >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/phphelpdesk-help -- Alister Air Ph 9514 1277 IT Manager Fx 9514 1656 Faculty of Science, University of Technology Sydney "The time of your life is the one commodity that you can sell but never buy back." -- Bob Black |
