Hi all, I did a clean install but i still got the same error-message: --------------------------------- Warning: %v%v() [function.%v]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /srv/www/vhosts/barelds/phpGedView-4.0.1-all/includes/session.php on line 349 Fatal error: %v%v() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/lang_settings_std.php' (include_path='/srv/www/vhosts/barelds/phpGedView-4.0.1-all/includes:/usr/share/php5') in /srv/www/vhosts/barelds/phpGedView-4.0.1-all/includes/session.php on line 349 --------------------------------- As far as i can tell there is a problem with opening file 'includes/lang_settings_std.php'. But the file is there and there seems to be nothing wrong with it. So maybe it has a problem with finding path 'includes/' ? Anyone any clues where to search and how to correct this? Thanks! p.s. all other php site on my server are working just fine, so i guess it's something phpgedview specific. Grz. Well, I know PGV works with php5 as I'm running it. I guess first thing you need to do is check your paths and ensure that when you upgraded the paths your php directory didn't change. After that it really depends on what OS your running, whether your using your own server or a host, and so on.... to troubleshoot your problem. Hi Johan, The include_path given in your error message seems weird (not a legal path) Also, it mentions version 4.0.1 while you say you are using version 4.1. Could it be that several versions got mixed-up? Did you try a clean install rather than an upgrade? regards Philippe > -----Original Message----- > From: php...@li... > [mailto:php...@li...]On > Behalf Of Johan Barelds > Sent: maandag 28 augustus 2006 22:57 > To: php...@li... > Subject: Re: [Phpgedview-talk] php error > > > Is there please someone who can give me a clue where to search? > Help is much appreciated! > > Grz. Dear all, =A0 I've started using phpgedview very recently to capture the results of my = new genealogical hobby. So far it looks great, and I'm looking forward to our dicussions on this list. =A0 I'm 56 years old, I live in Belgium and I work for a software company. I'm certainly not a PHP expert, and only a beginning genealogist, so I ho= pe my questions will not sound too stupid to you all. You can see the result of my work at: =A0 HYPERLINK "http://genealogie.vanpeperstraete.be"http://genealogie.vanpeperstraete.b= e =A0 Are there any other Belgians on this list? I already made some small modifications to the Belgium place files to take into account the multipl= e languages of Belgium. I'd be interested to see how others are coping with that. =A0 regards Philippe =A0 =A0 -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Hi all ! I'm a newbie. I look up into the list's history and I didn't found anything about. I've got a problem. I use the Phpgedview 4.0 release with Freebsd 4.1 Stable, Php 4 plus Mysql 4.13. I included many people into the system until now, but at the moment, when I going to include a child (any child) in a family (any family), the system includes a person already added. I can't add anyone different. My table structure is ok, I think. Anyone cans help me? Sincerely, Andre T. Poletto. |

Running v4.0 b7: Cookies don't seem to be very healthy on my system. 1) I often (but not always) get a red text warning about cookies not being turned on, when I log in. (They are, however) 2) Changing the config setting for length of time before requiring a fresh login has never worked. 3) Sometimes I have to log in twice within minutes. 4) If I'm not working in the default GEDCOM, and I have to log in after timing out, when I *do* log in, I get a "page not found" error. Going from one GEDCOM to another is not handled very robustly and can be confusing for newbie, frustrating for long-timers. Just putting the GEDCOM specifier in all page calls would probably solve the problem. Is there any way to hack it so that I can exclude myself from having to login in several times a day? I do research and periodically pull up the database to search the data and to add/edit the results of new research. The website may be idle for an hour or two, and I'm really getting tired of having to log in every time I go to use the site. James, I was looking for possible errors but could not find them with my data. As I want to improve the product I ask you to send your data so I can check it against mine. The logic for excel is as follows. Produced is a SYLK format excel file (this is plain text excel references) In my default output I produce a row for every individual and every relation. On those rows surname, birthname, birth/deathdates and places of person (on relation date etc of relation) On the row there is a refernce to the row of the father and/or mother The rest of the information is put in a NOTE field according with de GEDCOM tag. And yes I follow the Patriarch list. This means that the list is alphabetic and the families are groupes together with a numbered (x.y.z.p.q.r....) position relative to the patriarch I hope to hear from you Dick -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: php...@li... Can you not put the Patriarch list logic into the SLK export? My intent was to be able to use the data in EXCEL/ACCESS to create reports not available in PGV. Specifically, I need to report all families with children and maybe even a list of Places. I need this to make up the shortcomings in the Search feature, as I work on a one name study. I ended up using the GEDCOM text file and spent most of a day using find and replace to strip out the unwanted data and to create tables of families and individuals with name and birth/death dates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Hello, I have dug through the archives and the forums and haven't found anything concrete... When users click on the contact link for me at the bottom of the pages or register for new user ids.. the messages are not going out. I realized first that my php.ini file was not configured for SMTP, but for sendmail, so I fixed that, but I can't seem to figure out where to put or how to put info in for smtp authentication????? My provider requires this to send mail... Can anyone help me get this working? Thanks so very much, Rick |

Hi all, I'm currently installing the latest stable version of PHPGedView, 4.0.1, and one thing I'm curious if its possible to do with this system yet: If the system hasn't been told yet to allow you specifically access to the system, it allows you to view everything for deceased ancestors, but if they are Living, they are only displayed as Living Moody for example. Is this yet possible? Thanks, Chris -- Chris Moody me...@ch... "Passion is in all great searches and is necessary to all creative endeavors." |

James, I cannot understand why excel output is not working because with me it is working fine... at least when you have run patriarchlist before. Probably I can help you very fast if you send me your GEDCOM file. I will do it om my own computer. I migth also find out why this is not working with you. I've looked around with google and couldn't get any help with this one. I'm pretty new with phpgedview so I appologise in advance if it's something silly I've done. I had just deleted a gedcom file (I'm using mysql) and was trying to upload a new one, and I keep getting this error. Could someone help with this? James, No slklist is not supposed to fill your browser with errors. At the moment I am checking slklist with phpgedview 4.x and newer PHP and MySQL versions. I hope that by the end of the week I can supply you with a better program. When I may ask.... For what purposes are you using slklist?? and do you have special wishes?
