[phpesp-general] Survey link problem.

Hi,
 
recently i added the phpESP module in my PHP-Nuke intranet site. But when i
create surverys it goes through all steps fine , but the problem is it will
not create the link. I mean when i click on "Survey" it will return error
"Error processing survey: Survey not specified". But if i type the full URL
then i can see the survey that i created, 
 
Any ideas.

[phpesp-general] DB Connection Error

Ok... I'm running phpESP on a host that is giving me grief, so I'm=20
trying to move it to another one.  I imported all the data from the=20
MySQL DB on the old host, and copied over the files in my phpESP=20
directory.  Both hosts are running FreeBSD (4.8), Apache (1.3.x), PHP=20
(4.3.8), MySQL (4.0.13).

On the new host only I'm getting this error after install:

HTTP 503 Service Unavailable
[ Connection to database failed. Please check configuration. ]


Yes, I've checked & rechecked the DB host name, username & password.  I=20=

also tried turning off authentication, but that didn't help.  Anyone=20
got any suggestions?  Thanks a lot.

There must be a way to do it, but I'm not sure I know how!=20

It looks like the populate info for mysql could be entered manually =
using mysqladmin from looking at the content of mysql_populate.sql, but =
that seems like a lot of work. I will look into how it could be done on =
my server more economically and elegantly.

      Mysqladmin should be good enough. You don't need to run scripts =
from shell (cmd line). Could you access test.php =

      I am a noob to mysql and php, and I have no idea how I would =
execute a mysql script via a cmd line. Instead I created a db in mysql =
myself using mysqladmin for my webspace server, which is how I am =
accustomed to creating dbs in mysql.=20

      Do I have to run this script and if so, how do I run this script =
and the script after it to populate the database using a Plesk cpanel =
and mysql? I don't understand how to run a script for a server side =
process like mysql.

      PS I have fixed the problem sort of, by changing a setting in the =
ini file: by changing the designer authentication line to "false" I can =
get rid of the 503 error and access the page to design the survey form. =
However, I suspect that this gives access to anyone to design surveys on =
my page (not good). But I thought maybe this would give a clue about the =
problem.

Er, the database "survey" is created and I can see it in mysqladmin, but =
there are "no tables found in database", which I presume means it is not =
populated. Do I have to somehow manually "populate" the db, and if so, =
how would I do that? I have tried creating a table called "designer" =
without any luck, although I am stabbing in the dark a bit as I can't =
find anything in the docs that suggests I should do this ! :-(

  If the tables are created and populated (you should be able to see it =
in mysqladmin) there problem could be with apache2handler. I can =
reproduce your problem here because I am on more stable 1.3. You do see =
survey.designer in mysqladmin with at least root account, correct?
