I've successfully installed and run phpESP on a Win2000 server with apache, for test purposes. I'm not trying to install it onto the live server, and tried everything from a fresh install to copying the win2000 dev version onto the live server. However whenever I try and get into /phpESP/admin/manage.php it comes up with a error 500. Does anyone know what could cause this? I've attached the test.php page to show the setup I have.. Hi: Im trying to find out if it is posible to save the the temporal answers of someone, and continue later to finish a that survey. Also is there any chance to incluye any time restriction for a survey, with this i mean having a clock that blocks answering capabilities and automaticaly sends the answered questions.- Sorry if this have been asked befote, im new to the mailing list. Thank you in advance, J.Felis |

!other is only available with "check box" and "radio button" question types. The help page available when you are creating/editing surveys should say this. Hi, New to the list, so bear with me for this one. I've searched through the archives and have not found a solution to this problem. I'm creating a line of questioning with a Rate type on one line, and a comment field below it. When !other or !other=prompt text is entered, it does not show up in the preview or on the live survey. I am using v1.6.1. Any clues will be appreciated. -- Jason Bath Network Administrator CKUA Radio Network 780.428.7595 |

The FAQ has been updated to reflect changes in the next, not yet released version. You can add a single line to the survey.php in 1.6.1 to enable results viewing as well. Look for the "$results = 1;" line here: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/phpesp/phpESP/public/survey.php? rev=1.15&view=markup Add the line to your survey.php in the appropriate location. I may have missed this, but how can I get the results of a poll to display to a user after they have voted? I saw somehting in the FAQs abount uncommenting a line 48 in the file public/survey.php. However, the line 48 that was described there was not in my 1.6.1 version. Nor was there any line that even looked close to the one listed in the FAQ. If the is no way to display the results, what are the changes of that capability being in the next version? |

Hello! I have installed phpesp on win2003 with IIS6 and PHP installed as ISAPI not CGI. It works if I set auth_design to false otherwise I can't log in. Is it possible to get auth_design to work with IIS6? I have not seen any documentation on LDAP with phpesp. How do I use it? Thank you for your help! Ylva |

For our surveys it is very important that we can identify every respondent. A hard login with username and password filled in by the respondent is no option. Until now we have sent all our customers an emai= l with a unique hyperlink like http://username:pas...@ww.../../public/suvey.php?name=3Dyo= ursurvey. With this hyperlink our customers have a smoothless login and we could identify them on there username. Unfortunately this doesn=92t work anymore with the latest IE patch. Is th= ere maybe any other posibilty to have a smoothless login with a coded URL? Or is it for example possible to make a hyperlink which will fill in the first question (for example name) automaticly clicking on a hyperlink (something like http://www.yourdomain.com/../public/survey.php?name=3Dyoursurvey@q1=3Dyou= rname ) so that we can identify our respondents. Hi, somebody a work is using phpesp and ran into some problems with it asked me to help out, I haven't done a lot of php before, so this is basically just a solve the problem type of task for me, and not a solve the problem well. The problem initially had to do with signup.php not having any display at all. Going through the code I changed the following things, considering them to be errors (if they aren't errors please explain) /* process form values */ do if (isset($post['submit'])) ..... if there's a do shouldn't it be in the form of do{stuff I'm gonna do}while(while this remains true); some of the various things getting concatenated seemed to have problems due to line breaks. Maybe caused by zip file, windows text? and iirc(I'm at home now so I can't refer to original scripts) there was an array_push on $sqlv that had an extra ) somewhere. finally the if (isset($msg)) break; seemed also to cause problems, I put the rest of the code into that if and got my display. Note also that I set $embed to be false, although given my preferences I would probably just remove $embed and the checks to see if it was false, and have the markup without the check. Unless there is some other requirement for $embed that I am unaware of. After which there were some problems as follows: I managed to use signup at some points, receiving messages back that I was signed up. However this was not a continuing success, I also failed a number of times to signup using different usernames, people names etc. Is there a cookie being set somewhere by the application as a whole that I am unaware of? anyway I was wondering about the logic of if(isset($msg)) at that point in the code, what is $msg supposed to be set as? or given that there is unset($msg); earlier in the code, what is it supposed to unset from? Sorry if I'm being annoying with the questions, but basically this is far from being a requirement of any of our jobs, and as such it's difficult to give to it all the time necessary to understand it well. |

Mike, From a console program for the database you are using (e.g. MySQL) run something like this: update phpesp.designer set password=password("foo") where username = "root" Then you should be able to login using foo. That's off the top of my head, so be careful. Make sure you get the "where" part right. I have no expirience with phpNuke, so I don't have any suggestions. Perhaps someone else here might. If not, please try a phpNuke forum, or contact the author of the phpNuke version (Eric Esselink <er...@ne...>). -James |

Dear friends: I am new to phpESP. I have installed it inside my phpNuke. = The problem I am having is this: I used the following link in a new block so people are able to access = the survey.their responses are sent back to my email.=20 http://www.ihef.net/modules.php?name=3DphpESP&surveyname=3Dinternet_usage= _copy1 But I don't know how to do with html file. the help file says that put = it into a html file with this line embedded into a table cell. <?php = $sid=3D3; include('modules/phpESP/public/handler.php'); ?>=20 I did so and it worked fine if I directly call the file in browser. = However, when I convert the code into a module and call the module will = bring in the survey in the center block. But when I click submit, it = went wrong. I guess I need to do some redirect. But how and which file = to modify. I guess my questions are: in a normal way which fold should I put this = html in? how to make a survey a module? which file should be modified to = change the look and table structure of a survey? thank you. Hope someone on the list can offer a help. I would appreciate = it very much. kding |
