I cant login after installation. I've read through some posting and am having the same trouble as others.I get the 401 Unauthorized page... I am entering root/esp... all lower case. If I edit the config file, and turn off authorizations, no problem. But of course, I cant use it that way. How can I get in and manage users? Can I create a new superuser right in mysql? Are you using IIS? Are you using PHP in CGI mode? Either of those cause authorization to break, turn off 'auth_design' and 'auth_response' in the phpESP.ini.php file. A good start at more details would be the test page output (http://www.example.com/phpESP/admin/test.php). -James Aaron Axelsen wrote: > Can you provide some more details? > > > -- > Aaron Axelsen > Email: li...@fr... > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > *From:* php...@li... > [mailto:php...@li...] *On Behalf Of *willymerk > *Sent:* Wednesday, November 10, 2004 5:08 PM > *To:* php...@li... > *Subject:* [phpesp-general] can't log in > > Trying to log in to phpesp, using username "root" and password "esp". > Only got the message: > > > > 401 Unauthorized > > [ Incorrect User ID or Password, or your account has been > disabled/expired. ] > > Whats wrong? > > > > --- > Denne e-post er virus-sjekket og funnet fri for virus. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.788 / Virus Database: 533 - Release Date: 01.11.2004 > |

I've not seen this before. I do know that if you have questions or multi-valued options with the same name, the exported CSV will only export a single answer. We are testing a survey, and one of the results had all check box results entered 4 times. For example, if the check box had a value of "Credit Card"., the csv file contained "Credit Card, Credit Card, Credit Card, Credit Card" I tried to reproduce the problem, but was out of luck. This survey does contain multiple pages, and has some questions marked as required. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks -- Aaron |

However, this shouldn't be a major concern because a) - Many submissions are made from public or wireless terminals without fixed IP's, and b) - The survey designer that hasn't been granted priveleges to export the results will not have access to the IP addresses. In fact, virtually all survey software has this as an issue, because routinely IP addresses are logged and available to the web or system administrator. Jack Cooper - IST, University of Waterloo |

Hi Kent, It should be anonymous (public) by default. Simply activate it after you're done testing. If you do not make a survey private, your students will be able to access it without any authorization. I have just installed phpESP and I am looking for a why to pass variables to the code to indicate what language I would like to have the survey "wrapper" rendered in. We must provide surveys in both english and french so I need the text like : Page 1 of 2 Prev Next Submit Survey to be available in english or french. I was thinking I could set a global variable in survey.php and then use this in the functions that render the submit button etc. Has anyone done any work on this before? Ultimately, it would be nice to be able to have the French and English surveys merged together, but .... later. Thanks for any help you can provide. All I can says is google for "nettrade phpesp". I've no idea what version of phpESP that is based off, and what version of php-nuke it is for, but that is it I believe. There is very little contact between the nuked version developer(s) and the main project. -James James R. Can you pass the survey answers to the "thank you" page? e.g. thankyou.php?fname=aaa&lname=bbb That way you can personally thank each person by name for filling out the survey. It would seem you can edit admin/include/funcs.inc, but I am not sure how to get the current form variables passed? |

phpESP-1.7-dev has been released. This is a developmental release. Do not use this on your production phpESP databases. I'm pretty new to phpESP so I apologize if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find the answer. I have a user who spent a lot of time creating a survey and before she made a copy of it she activated it. Now she wants to use her survey as the basis for a new survey. Is there anything that can be done? Steve -- Steve Gray Ann Arbor, Michigan 734.998.6100 x.25 |

You should be able to use any HTML you would like in the Section text. <br />, <p /> for example. Great package, but I have two questions. - Is it possible to format the text in the survey? Specifically the text in General/Additional info or the Section Tex. tFor now, all text is displayed as one big row, without any spaces. Is it possible to start on a new line for example and make the text more readable? - This question has been asked before, but I didnt see an answer. Is it possible to change the label of the rating scales? Now its only 1,2,3.. etc, but I would like to have a label like poor, good, excellent etc. added to it. Thanks in advance for the answers. - Edwin |
