The Segoe UI Symbol font is standard in Windows 7, 8/8.1 and 10 and provides some useful symbols for GUIs. Since Password Safe for Windows now has a minimum requirement for Windows 7, this FR is for the Segoe UI Symbol font to be the default for Tree/List, Add/Edit and Notes font when a new release of Password Safe is installed. Specifically, for Tree/List: Segoe UI Symbol, regular style, 12pt, for Add/Edit: Segoe UI Symbol, regular style, 10pt, and for Notes: Segoe UI Symbol, regular style, 10pt.
Since the user can easily set their fonts via View->Change Font, I am not sure that this is strictly necessary.
It is true that it is not strictly necessary.
I would still recommend this change if it is not a hard or 'big' change to make. I think it would help discoverability for users, especially new users, that special symbols can be used (for example, via cut and paste text from Word to the Notes area) in Password Safe.
Maybe they can add a "recommendation" to the help file for this and the password font?
I'd rather see the change to make these fonts the default, however, at a minimum, a 'recommendation' in the help file for both is also a good idea.
The correct way to do this is to use the fonts that the user has selected in the "Personalization" function of Windows, not to force a font onto them. This is the standard for all common OS'es.

Implemented in commit 64d68efca0, will be in next release.
On a fresh install of the 64-bit v3.44.0pre, it is using Segoe UI 10-pt as the default font for Tree/List views, Add/Edit fields and an entry's Notes. The recommendation of the FR to to use 'Segoe UI Symbol', and not 'Segoe UI' font as the default.
Segoe UI Symbol had issues displaying Russian and Turkish character sets (and perhaps others), and was therefore replaced with Segoe UI.
Okay.
