Using OpenSong 2.1.1 (Mac) often results in the following crash when "Preview Dual Screen" is selected:

    • The "Presentation Helper" is no longer able to be closed using the ESC key; CMD-Q works.

Presentation Helper no longer able to be closed

    • However, when then returning to the main screen, the "Present" button is greyed out.

    Present button greyed out

OpenSong then has to be Force Quit.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Thanks for the report and the screen shots. I will investigate.

What version of OS X are you running? Is this Mavericks (10.9) or something earlier?

    Thank you; yes, Mavericks (10.9).

This problem (or a very similar problem) seems to still be happening on v2.1.2 on Mac OS X. I'm using Yosemite.

It's pretty reproducible in this manner:

    1. Open OpenSong (mine defaults opening to Sets)
    2. Select a Set.
    3. Present -> Preview Dual Screen
    4. Click "(Esc) Return"
    5. Present -> Preview Dual Screen
At this time, the preview screen doesn't show up, but the secondary panel does. And clicking "(Esc) Return" does not do anything. You can Cmd+Q the secondary panel, but the state of the main OpenSong window still seems to be in present mode (a lot of the buttons are greyed out, and quitting OpenSong doesn't work - have to force quit).

I can also reproduce this issue using the real "Dual Screen" present mode instead of Preview. However, Single Screen is working fine.

I hope this helps in your debugging of the issue. If there's any further information you'd like, I'd be happy to assist.

Oops, just noticed there was a bug filed for this: https://sourceforge.net/p/opensong/bugs/440/
