FROM: Mr.Bode Newton Central Bank of Nigeria Lagos, Nigeria Phone Number234-1-4751076 Fax 234-1-7592872 Dear Sir: I have been requested by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to contact you for assistance in resolving a matter. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company has recently concluded a large number of contracts for oil exploration in the sub-Sahara region. The contracts have immediately produced moneys equalling US$50,000,000. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company is desirous of oil exploration in other parts of the world, however, because of certain regulations of the Nigerian Government, it is unable to move these funds to another region. You assistance is requested as a non-Nigerian citizen to assist the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, and also the Central Bank of Nigeria, in moving these funds out of Nigeria. If the funds can be transferred to your name, in your United States account, then you can forward the funds as directed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. In exchange for your accomodating services, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company would agree to allow you to retain 10%, or US$4 million of this amount. However, to be a legitimate transferee of these moneys according to Nigerian law, you must presently be a depositor of at least US$100,000 in a Nigerian bank which is regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. If it will be possible for you to assist us, we would be most grateful. We suggest that you meet with us in person in Lagos, and that during your visit I introduce you to the representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, as well as with certain officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Please call me at your earliest convenience at [Phone Number 234-1-4751076]. Time is of the essence in this matter; very quickly the Nigerian Government will realize that the Central Bank is maintaining this amount on deposit, and attempt to levy certain depository taxes on it. Yours truly, Bode Newton. (cbn). |

Probably, it depends what codec is used. Many cameras use Motion JPEG and uncompressed audio which OpenQuickTime can handle. Alternatively, you can use QuickTime Pro on Windows to export the file to AVI, or you can use TMPGEnc Plus + QTReader to directly encode the file to MPEG-1 On Macintosh you can just use any MPEG encoder with the QuickTime file On 09/03/2004, at 5:58 AM, Brian Henning wrote: > is it possible to convert a quicktime movie file created from a kodac > digital > camera to an mpeg-1? > if so how can i do it? what is the audio format? > > thanks, > > brian > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials > Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of > GenToo technologies. Hi, I have several files which oqtinfo reports the audio stream as: 1 channels=2E 16 bits=2E sample rate 8000=2E length 14400=2E duration 1=2E= 80 secs=2E Supported using '8-bit Offset Linear' codec [raw ] version 0=2E1=2E The audio track does not play correctly and instead produces a fair approximation to white noise=2E It does perform as expected in Quicktime for Windows (which describes the audio track as type int (Big Endian) and raw=2E Should this file play correctly, or is this not a supported option? Is it possible to tell if oqtinfo is interpreting the audio type incorrectly? If anybody wants a look at this I can send them a ~500kb sample file=2E Many thanks, Stuart |

Hi, I have just released OpenQuicktime version 2.0 Alpha 1. Nothing new recently I'm afraid but I thought it was about time that the source code escaped CVS ! So this is *very* Alpha software - lots of bugs there still. However hopefully the new cleaner API is fairly fixed now and I hope that we should be able to maintain source (and binary?) comparability from now on... I haven't had much time to do work on OpenQuicktime for a bit - but looking back at it, I really think it has a lot going for it - perhaps this release will re-kindle some interest in the project. Cheers, nick. |

This is because Video::OpenQuicktime uses the old API. I shouldn't be to big a job to convert it to use the new one, I will try and get it done tonight/tomorrow. Cheers, nick. hi ppl, finally i got the latest CVS from openquicktime and installed it as described on the page. but my problem now: if i am trying to install Video::OpenQuicktime from CPAN (http://search.cpan.org/~allenday/Video-OpenQuicktime-1.02/OpenQuicktime.pm) i get the following error output as described below. any ideas what could be the problem? thanks, matthias --- Starting Build Compile Stage Starting "perl Makefile.PL" Stage Writing Makefile for Video::OpenQuicktime Finished "perl Makefile.PL" Stage Starting "make" Stage make[1]: Entering directory `/root/.cpan/build/Video-OpenQuicktime-1.02/_Inline/build/Video/OpenQuicktime' /usr/bin/perl5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/ExtUtils/xsubpp -typemap /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/ExtUtils/typemap OpenQuicktime.xs > OpenQuicktime.xsc && mv OpenQuicktime.xsc OpenQuicktime.c gcc -c -I/root/.cpan/build/Video-OpenQuicktime-1.02 -fno-strict-aliasing -I/usr/include/gdbm -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-exceptions -pipe -s -mpentium -mcpu=pentium -march=pentium -ffast-math -fexpensive-optimizations -DVERSION=\"1.02\" -DXS_VERSION=\"1.02\" -fpic "-I/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i586-linux/CORE" OpenQuicktime.c OpenQuicktime.xs:6:34: openquicktime/codecs.h: No such file or directory OpenQuicktime.xs: In function `_get_audio_bits': OpenQuicktime.xs:15: error: `quicktime_t' undeclared (first use in this function) OpenQuicktime.xs:15: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once OpenQuicktime.xs:15: error: for each function it appears in.) SourceForge have nightly archives here: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cvstarballs/openquicktime-cvsroot.tar.bz2 Note that this is a backup of the CVS archive on the SF servers and isn't exactly what you get when you check the code out of CVS the normal way. Hi, Sorry I didn't reply about your previous emails - I have very very little knowledge about Windows. I can however tell you the problem with a couple of the problems. allright, I know the API is well known, but -and this might be off =
topic-, I have trouble using this specific DLL.
I want to use it within Visual Basic and the problem is that I have no =
idea how to call the functions in the dll in the right way.
The API documentation say for example about oqt_get_info_list :
---start quote---
OPENQUICKTIMELIB_API oqt_udta_t* OQT_STDCALL oqt_get_info_list (
oqt_t *file
);
Parameters
Name Description
file The file to get the info fields from'
Result: The array of info field records
---end quote---
Now I woudl like to access this function from VB, and I tried =
something like this:
Public Declare Function oqt_get_info_list Lib "OpenQuicktimeLib.dll" =
(ByVal file as string) as variant
test =3D oqt_get_info_list("my_kewl_movie.mov")
This results in a "Run-time error '49': Bad DLL Calling convention"
I think this has to do because the function is not using a STDCLL but =
a OQT_STDCLL (whatever that exactly might be, I am little experienced =
with C++, but I did figure out that VB only seems to support STDCLL)
Also as I don't have the source code of the dll I cannot change =

problems because if a missing "inttypes.h" which seems to be not part of =

There is always http://www.openquicktime.org/docs/openquicktime/Functions/=20 Functions.html#oqt_dump I don't think that's what you want tho.. A better way would be to write a function as you say to loop over the =20= video tracks, returning all the info you want, and loop over the audio =20= tracks... returning all the info you want. In fact, such a function might exist in one of the 'utils' (sample =20 code) which comes with OQT On Sunday, March 30, 2003, at 08:31 PM, Rob Coenen wrote: > I know that Quicktime is, unlike .avi files, based upon an =20 > "atom"-structure. > If I am correct this structure is also used for the MPEG4 file format. = =20 > And > thanks to the MPEG4IP project there's a lib available that has the =20 > function > Mp4FileInfo which basically dumps all track information. I know that Quicktime is, unlike .avi files, based upon an "atom"-structure. If I am correct this structure is also used for the MPEG4 file format. And thanks to the MPEG4IP project there's a lib available that has the function Mp4FileInfo which basically dumps all track information. I compiled this into a .dll which I can call from VB, works perfectly. Now I'd like to do the same thing for .Mov files but.. I can't find anything like a functionality like "MOVFileInfo" but it seems that I'll have to build such a function myself? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nick Humfrey" <nj...@ec...> To: "Rob Coenen" <ro...@so...> Cc: <ope...@li...> Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2003 10:04 PM Subject: Re: [Openquicktime-users] .mov file info? > Sorry for the long time in replying - Have I replied already ? OpenQuicktime can encode movies, but it can't hint them for streaming - so probably isn't a lot of help to you. You could try mpeg4ip: http://mpeg4ip.sf.net Haven't tried it myself for a while but might be what you are after ? >Also i have another question can I play mpeg-4 content on any player? Nope. Mpeg-4 is mostly the same as QuickTime but there are a few changes. QuickTime Player 6 and Mplayer perhaps... ? nick. |

Sorry for the long time in replying - Have I replied already ? Don't think I have - but thought I had... ! Information about the QuickTime file format is here: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/quicktime/qtdevdocs/PDF/QTFileFormat.pdf I don't think there is a really easy way of getting basic information about a movie out - it isn't just sitting in the first few bytes of the file - that is what OpenQuicktime is for ! I know very little about VB - but do you think you could called functions in OQT compiled as a DLL ? The OQT API is documented here: http://www.openquicktime.org/docs/openquicktime/ Cheers, nick.
