OmegaT standard version 4.3.3 and latest version 5.7.1 released

OmegaT 4.3.3 and 5.7.1 bring one bug fix:

The existing source for downloading spelling dictionaries is now defunct. A new location is now provided by default:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/contrib/dictionaries/

Users who have not customized Spellchecker > "URL of online dictionaries" will have this setting automatically upgraded to the new location.

OmegaT latest version 5.7.0 released

OmegaT 5.7.0 brings 4 enhancements and 2 bug fixes.

The Dictionary pane has been enhanced with faster loading and support for images and other media. DSL tag support has also been enhanced.

Some UI bugs were fixed.

The Italian localisation was updated, and the English manual was expanded.

OmegaT latest version 5.5.0 released

OmegaT 5.5.0 brings 11 enhancements and 3 bug fixes.

There is now an alternative layout for the glossary pane called "Dictionary". See Preferences > Glossary > Glossary layout. Also the colors of content in the glossary pane can now be customized.

OmegaT latest version 5.4.4 released

OmegaT 5.4.4 brings 1 enhancement for plugin developers. There are no user-facing changes in behavior.

OmegaT is published as a Maven resource for use in developing plugins. For this purpose it has been hosted on Bintray/JCenter, which will be shutting down in May 2021.

OmegaT and its dependencies that are published under the org.omegat* group ID have migrated to Maven Central. Users who consume OmegaT as a Maven resource should update to org.omegat:omegat:5.4.4 and remove any references to JCenter or the Bintray repository.... read more

OmegaT latest version 5.4.3 released

OmegaT 5.4.3 brings 1 bug fix.

In 5.4.2 the DeepL MT connector was changed to use the V2 API rather than the deprecated V1 API, but the V2 API is not available for CAT tool integration. This change has been reverted.

OmegaT latest version 5.4.2 released

OmegaT 5.4.2 brings 1 enhancement and 1 bug fix.

Due to a bug in the enhancement "Sync file deletions from repository to project" (#1499), all source files were being deleted from SVN-based team projects. As a temporary fix, this feature has been disabled for SVN-based projects.

OmegaT latest version 5.2.0 released

OmegaT 5.2.0 brings 3 enhancements, 6 bug fixes, and 7 localization updates vs 5.1.0.

The TMX 'tuid' attribute is now supported as a segment ID for matching purposes. It is also included in the exported level-2 TMX.

Matching accuracy for tags in level-2 TMXs is improved.

Bugs in the following features were fixed:

  • Saving LanguageTool settings
  • The Moodle PHP filter
  • MyMemory machine translation

OmegaT standard version 4.3.2 released

OmegaT 4.3.2 brings 1 bugfix and 2 localization updates. There are no changes to the core behavior of OmegaT.

A bug preventing the context menu from opening in some situations for some locales was fixed.

A Finnish localization, including manual, was added.

The Simplified Chinese localization was updated to 4.3.2.

OmegaT 5.1.0 brings the Mac and Windows packaging fixes from 4.3.1, plus 2 enhancements.

The Mac distribution has fixes for macOS 10.15 "Catalina". The Windows version has fixes for the installer. See here for details:

OmegaT standard version 4.3.1 released

OmegaT 4.3.1 brings 1 enhancement and 2 bug fixes.

All changes are packaging or localization-related; there are no changes to the core behavior of OmegaT.

The Mac distribution is now notarized. Notarization is a security feature new to macOS 10.15 "Catalina". When launching the OmegaT app for the first time, users should no longer get a message about how the app can't be opened.

The Mac distribution now works with the new permissions system in macOS 10.15. When attempting to access files in your Desktop, Documents, or Downloads folders, the system will seek your permission first.... read more

OmegaT 5.0.0 brings 3 enhancements and 1 bug fix.

BCP 47 language tags are now supported.

TM entries with almost-matching locales can now be shown as fuzzy matches with a configurable penalty.

The bundled JRE in "with-JRE" distributions has been updated to Java 8u222, now from AdoptOpenJDK rather than Oracle. Note that the 32-bit Linux distribution has been discontinued. 32-bit Linux users should use the "without-JRE" distribution and supply their own JRE.... read more

OmegaT latest version 4.2.0 released

OmegaT 4.2.0 brings 5 enhancements and 1 bug fix.

There is now a separate color for "enforced" TM matches in the Editor.

Apache Ivy is now included with OmegaT to allow Groovy scripts to fetch external libraries.

OmegaT can now run on Java 11. Note that Java 8 remains the recommended version, and all "with JRE" distributions continue to bundle the Java 8 JRE.

Spelling dictionaries without a region ("fr", not "fr-FR") now show up as available when installing.... read more

It is now possible to search the select text in dictionaries.

Paragraphs marks can now be shown in the Editor, and the beginning of a paragraph will be mentioned in the segment marker.

OmegaT standard version 3.6.0 update 11 released

OmegaT 3.6.0 update 11 is a maintenance release, with 1 bug fix.

Translations were not loaded when the first 2 letters of 3-character language codes were the same.

This will be the last release of the 3.6 branch, and will be the last version of OmegaT running on Java 1.6.
All future versions will require Java 1.8.

It’s now possible to use two methods of authentication (username/password or API key) for IBM Watson machine translation.

In Watson Language Translator, neural translation is now always on, and it is possible to enter a model ID in the credentials dialog.

Automatic conversion of numbers when inserting fuzzy matches now works with Ctrl+I in addition to Ctrl+R.

It is now possible to download arbitrary root-level folders in OmegaT 4 team projects. In addition, all files, not only a few preconfigured ones, can be downloaded in the /omegaT folder, including the spell-checking files learned_words.txt and ignored_words.txt.... read more

OmegaT 3.6.0 update 10 is a maintenance release, with 3 bug fixes.

Adjacent search matches were collapsed when doing a search/replace, find-replace results overlapped and adjacent next matches were skipped by Replace Next.

The documentation is now available in Belarusian and Croatian.
The Czech, Interlingua, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese documentations were updated.
