Category: OmegaT Application >Group: future Status: Open >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 8 Private: No Submitted By: Gabix (gabix) Assigned to: Zoltan Bartko (bartkozoltan) Summary: Letter case change in editing field Initial Comment: It would be nice to have the ability to bring a text selection to lower or upper case, or to reverse case. It's VERY boring to retype a translation just because the source text of the current TU and a TU in the translation memory do not match (i.e., if I've got "FOREWORD" = "PREDISLOVIJE" in the translation memory, OmegaT will insert "PREDISLOVIJE" for "Foreword", but I have to retype the translation as "Predislovije"). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Didier Briel (didierbr) Date: 2007-09-30 23:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1343245 Originator: NO Fixed in CVS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-12-09 16:26 Message: Logged In: NO I have solved this issue and I have proposed to Jean-christopher to add this feature in OmegaT. How I propose to do it. You should select a text that you want to do this and just select the proper action that you want. Here is the sample of the result that I did the first line is the original string this a sample how it does work Original case: unë jAm ahmet n muRati Title Case Unë Jam Ahmet N Murati Lower Case unë jam ahmet n murati Upper Case UNË JAM AHMET N MURATI Untitled Case uNË jAM aHMET n mURATI If Henry wants to add this feature to OmegaT he might feel free to contact me at ahmetmurati at gmail dot com P.S. sorry for messages in Albanian but I think is important for letters. I have tried it Windows platform and I programmed it using Netbeans IDE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Maxym Mykhalchuk (mihmax) Date: 2006-03-29 21:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=488500 Increasing priority because users really want it (see duplicate issue http://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?aid=1440117 ): -- It happens to me sometimes that I have a segment with lower case letters in my TMX but in the current translation I need the same segment uppercase, so I have to rewrite it, even though it is already translated. That could be better with assigning a keystroke to changing the case of the translation (naturally, omitting formatting tags). Thanks, Zoltan Bartko -- Date: 2006-02-28 10:54 Sender: leuce Logged In: YES user_id=168045 I agree. I've had similar cases myself. Highlight a piece of text, and press a shortcut (Shift+F3 is the MS Word shortcut, what is the OOo shortcut?) to change between lowercase, titlecase, sentence case and uppercase. Or if doing this on a highlighted piece of text is not possible, then do it on the entire segment. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Gabix (gabix) Date: 2005-12-20 12:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1311251 Forgot to say: it has to be WITH A SHORTCUT (like Ctrl+Shift+Up for uppercase and Ctrl+Shift+Down for lowercase). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=520350&aid=1386063&group_id=68187 |
