Category: Application Group: None >Status: Pending >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Scandinavian characters are lost Initial Comment: When translating into a scandinavian language I noticed that the letters æøå are missing from the translated file. The letters are shown when the program is open, but not in the produced translated file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Didier Briel (didierbr) Date: 2008-10-26 13:52 Message: Thank you for your report. There is no specific processing of Scandinavian languages, and there is no need to. What happens, most likely, is that the encoding you choose for the target file (in Options/File filters) is not compatible with your characters. If you use UTF-8 (for instance) for both source and target, there is no risk of losing characters. The support group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/OmegaT/) is a good place to enquire about character sets, etc. Didier Briel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=520347&aid=2197569&group_id=68187 |
