This is a request to include automatic synchronization of segmentation.conf in the Team Projects functionality.
Sharing segmentation rules in a team project is just as important as sharing the translation memory and glossary.
Translators working in teams may not have the same default segmentation rules at the start of a project, so it is recommended for the project manager to include project-specific segmentation rules when creating a team project. Over the course of a team project, a translator may also need to merge or split segments or otherwise modify segmentation rules.
In 4.1 team projects, changes in segmentation rules are not shared automatically. The manual procedure to update segmentation rules in team projects is not simple and is prone to errors.
This lack of automatic synchronization may be the cause of issues such as orphan segments in the translation memory and non-propagation of translated segments created after the changes in segmentation rules.
The benefits from this feature are a more powerful Team Projects functionality, with projects that are easier to maintain and more consistent.
By establishing policies for their project teams to change segmentation rules, project managers are able to tackle potential issues arising from the freedom brought by this new feature.
In any case, the benefits of implementing this feature appear to be greater than its potential issues.
See [bugs:#864]
I believe it's a bug, a clear regression compared to the original team project functionality.
I propose to move to bugs and close as duplicate.
