StarDict dictionaries do not work under Java 1.6.0_23 and above.

This is a Java bug, documented on Oracle bugtracker:
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=7028902

The workaround, for Windows and Linux, is to use the 1.6.0_22 JRE provided with OmegaT.

Note that this bug only concerns packed dictionaries (with the .dz or .gz extension).

There is another workaround: if the dictionary is extracted, and named with the same name as the .ifo file, with a .dict extension, it works.

The issue seems to have been solved in 1.6.0_31-b05 (Windows).

I.e., I can open a .dz dictionary with OmegaT.

    Can someone confirm?

JRE 1.7.0 works fine with StarDict.

As it works with recent version of Java, I close as "Ouf of Date".
