    Thanks for your comment.

I thought of that some time ago, but unfortunately it is not a replacement, because it still does not support APNG: https://github.com/shssoichiro/oxipng/issues/79
Issue still there since almost 2 years ago.

    Regards.

Yes, I am very interested in OxiPNG. In fact I am following it for almost 2 years ago. Unfortunately they do not seem interested in making it fully featured, and thus this cannot be a replacement because of APNG support.

Hope they will add it and I can use it in FO.

aPNG was never accepted by the PNG standards body, and tends to be as large or larger than GIF[1]. If we're going to go through the effort of converting, then WebP makes way more sense.

With that said, that's probably one very good reason they aren't provding apng support for OxiPNG.

Those are strange test results. APNG is normally much smaller than GIF.

APNG is widely supported by all major browsers now: Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Edge.

Not sure if better than OptiPNG. But after using TheOptimizer, level 0, disabled "pngwolf;PNGOut" - OxiPNG failed to squeeze even 1 byte more.
