I also tried the original example with two threads you posted earlier, and that does seem to hang, although I can't pinpoint what's going on. Attaching the VS debugger, all threads are have NtWaitForSingleObject at the top of their call stack. I can't compile the code with MSVC and I don't know if this would even help to find the underlying issue.
