I have seen https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw-w64/mailman/message/32988620/ but the issue is unresolved for me. Trying to install mingw; get a failure to download repository.txt

Is it possible to find an older version with out the problem - I do get the error
Cannot download reposytory.txt[0]

I've spotted the root cause using wireshark. The URL requested is http://.../repository.txt, however it is redirected by sourceforge to https://.... But the installer doesn't follow the redirection, hence it fails. I attempted to fix the error by myself, but couldn't find the source of the installer anywhere.
