Hi, I seemed to be experiencing compile errors while building mc4j. Is the min requirement now jdk5+? There seems to be classes that have jdk5 specific e.g. Double.valueOf(double) from NumericAttributeGaugeMeter Im using jdk1.4. Regards, Warren |

Hi Mark. Yea there was something funny with my CVS client. It was showing those updates checked in. Rather than fix the problem I've decided to remove the relationship graphs and the libraries it uses. I don't think many people use JMX relations and it'll save space in the download. It was never completely implemented anyway. Commits on their way. On Wed, 15 Dec 2004 14:54:32 -0800, Mark A. Basler <mar...@ya...> wrote: > Hi, > > In order to get the build of mc4j to complete properly I had to move the > following jars from the installed product ("MC4J Console > 1.2b7\mc4jlib\jgraphaddons.jar" "MC4J Console > 1.2b7\mc4jlib\jgraph.jar") into the ...\mc4j\lib\common directory, > replacing jgraph_3.0.jar . Hi There, Is there a way to "extend" the console to support additional JSR 160 Compliant Application Servers? If yes, how can we go about it? Thanks, Kedar |

Hi, In order to get the build of mc4j to complete properly I had to move the following jars from the installed product ("MC4J Console 1.2b7\mc4jlib\jgraphaddons.jar" "MC4J Console 1.2b7\mc4jlib\jgraph.jar") into the ...\mc4j\lib\common directory, replacing jgraph_3.0.jar . It looks like the jars that are in cvs aren't up-to-date Am I the only one who has experienced this??? Thanks - Mark |

The notification node will only display for MBeans that send notification info in their MBeanInfo's. How you expose info about notifications depends on what type of MBean you've built. For example, with a dynamic MBean, you'd simply need to add MBeanNotificationInfo to your MBeanInfo creation. Hi! I have a Standard MBean installed in my Weblogic server. When accessing the same through MC4J, I don't get the Notification tree item beneath the "Operation" tree item (which I see for some of the MBeans). What modifications I have to make to the MBean for enabling this? Thanks in advance. -- Regards, Subhash. |

Is there a place where the servers that I've set up is stored? I would like to have several people be able to use mc4j to access our application and it would be helpful if the configurations where already included when we copy over the application folder. Thanks Dan |

I think it's due to the fact that an MBean is not responding. I removed the MBean (It's a MBean for a JDBC resource) but the Timer is still active. When I restarted MC4J, It worked. So I think it may be due to the fact that the Timer is not removed for the specific MBean. java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException at $Proxy9.queryNames(Unknown Source) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:207) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:186) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.refresh (ConnectionNode.java:561) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode$2.run (ConnectionNode.java:534) at java.util.TimerThread.mainLoop (Timer.java:432) at java.util.TimerThread.run(Timer.java:382) Caused by: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke (Method.java:324) at org.mc4j.console.connection.proxy.JMXRemotingMBeanSe rverProxy.invoke(JMXRemotingMBeanServerProxy.java:61) ... 7 more Caused by: java.io.IOException: The client has been closed. at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.re start(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:74) at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.go tIOException(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:34) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RMIClientCo mmunicatorAdmin.gotIOException (RMIConnector.java:1416) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RemoteMBe anServerConnection.queryNames(RMIConnector.java:800) [catch] ... 12 more ==> java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke (Method.java:324) at org.mc4j.console.connection.proxy.JMXRemotingMBeanSe rverProxy.invoke(JMXRemotingMBeanServerProxy.java:61) at $Proxy9.queryNames(Unknown Source) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:207) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:186) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.refresh (ConnectionNode.java:561) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode$2.run (ConnectionNode.java:534) at java.util.TimerThread.mainLoop (Timer.java:432) at java.util.TimerThread.run(Timer.java:382) Caused by: java.io.IOException: The client has been closed. at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.re start(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:74) at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.go tIOException(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:34) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RMIClientCo mmunicatorAdmin.gotIOException (RMIConnector.java:1416) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RemoteMBe anServerConnection.queryNames(RMIConnector.java:800) [catch] ... 12 more ==> java.io.IOException: The client has been closed. at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.re start(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:74) at com.sun.jmx.remote.internal.ClientCommunicatorAdmin.go tIOException(ClientCommunicatorAdmin.java:34) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RMIClientCo mmunicatorAdmin.gotIOException (RMIConnector.java:1416) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnector$RemoteMBe anServerConnection.queryNames(RMIConnector.java:800) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke (DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke (Method.java:324) at org.mc4j.console.connection.proxy.JMXRemotingMBeanSe rverProxy.invoke(JMXRemotingMBeanServerProxy.java:61) at $Proxy9.queryNames(Unknown Source) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:207) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.loadConnec tionNodeChildren(ConnectionNode.java:186) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode.refresh (ConnectionNode.java:561) at org.mc4j.console.connection.ConnectionNode$2.run (ConnectionNode.java:534) at java.util.TimerThread.mainLoop (Timer.java:432) [catch] at java.util.TimerThread.run(Timer.java:382) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=493495&aid=1052314&group_id=60228 |

It's my understanding that MC4J currently only supports a few basic data types. In particular there is not yet support for the TabularData type. I was wondering if anyone has had success in displaying their own tabular data. For example I have a list of string descriptions that I want to create a dashboard for. I've tried the HTML dashboard component but not the result I am looking for. here's basically what I'm trying to do public String getFrames(){ String result=""; for(int i=0;i<a.lenght;i++){ result += a[i] + "\n"; } return result; } and the dashboard html to show the exposed attribute <object classid="FrameBean.Frames"></object> When the page comes up all the attibutes are just in one long row "string one string two string three" I've tried ending each string with a <br> tag but that doesn't work either. Maybe an array of some sort is going to be the way to go, but I haven't seen this used and don't know how to go about it. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Dan |

Bugs item #1049916, was opened at 2004-10-19 10:09 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=493495&aid=1049916&group_id=60228 Category: Operations Group: MC4J 1.2b7-1 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Janny Buh (janny_buh) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Method overloading not supported Initial Comment: I'm using the following configuration: - JDK 1.5 final release - Windows XP Service Pack 2 - JBoss 3.2.6, JBoss 4.0.0 - MC4J 1.2b7-1 I have noticed an incorrect behaviour with overloaded methods. For example, working with a Standard MBean on JBoss 3.2.6 like jboss:name=SystemProperties,type=Service which exports two "get" operation (one with a single String argument, the other with two String arguments), MC4J console shows only a single operation (the first on the list of JBoss management console) and ignores the other. The same problem applies, for example, to "addListener" method, which exposes two different signatures (a PropertyListener or a String). JBoss 4.0.0 suffers of the same bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=493495&aid=1049916&group_id=60228 |

Hi I am having a problem creating queries in the console. I add a new query, open up its properties, and type in "*:*" for the ObjectName and leave the Regular Expression field empty. In the MC4J error console I see this message: This panel lists places within MC4J where calls are being made to a server from within the AWT Event Thread. These calls are not safe because long duration calls may cause the application to be unresponsive. Inappropriate call from Awt-EventThread at org.mc4j.console.query.QueryNode$1.setValue(QueryNode.java:170) Thanks stephan |
