I personally use and like scmbug (and helped to get it working in Mantis in fact). Scmbug requires Perl. Mantis does not. CVS does not. Subversion more or less does not. All that in mind, I'd prefer Mantis do this directly. It means a more rich out of the box API and eliminates another tool from the things I have to manage. This doesn't mean scmbug is bad, but it does mean that scmbug is not a panacea and its appropriate to pursue other avenues for integration. Everybody has special needs... You of all people should know this... You are writing a product that integrates the multitude of bug tracking systems with the multitude of source control systems. It just doesn't make any sense that a single tool (regardless of how good it is) offers the sole solution to this problem. Cris |
