Everything you've said below make sense to me so far. If we are going = to create a MantisUser LDAP objectclass, then we would have to apply for an = oid first. However, seeing as projects are (for now) defined and managed = solely in Mantis, it would be best to leave that part of the User management to Mantis. It would be difficult to maintain informational links between = users and projects if the user preferences etc. are maintained solely in LDAP, = and the project specifics are still only maintained in SQL. We would probably be better off looking at a more wholistic approach if = we wanted to integrate fully with LDAP. This would mean that project = details would also be stored in LDAP along with account details. Of course, = bugs would be stored in SQL still, but by that stage, it's feasible to be = able to store bugs in any appropriate database repository. A lot of work to do before that could happen. We'd need a proper data abstraction layer, = for one thing. Just my late-Sunday-afternoon-after-a-big roast thoughts, so I may be completely off about this stuff:) Rob. -----Original Message----- From: man...@li... To = me, if a place is using LDAP, then chances are they want as much as possible = stored in the LDAP directory. Perhaps making a mantisUser.schema for the directory, then adding an objectClass of 'mantisUser' that could contain Mantis-specific = information (which projects they're a part of, what their access is to each project, = if the account is enabled on Mantis). Attributes in mantisUser would be modifable from within Mantis itself = (just as they are now). Other attributes, if using LDAP (like password, = email, full name, etc) would not be changable. I'm kind of new to using LDAP though, so I'm not sure if this is Right = Way to do things.
