Linux Wacom, I'm attempting to do some "digital inking" with my Wacom device. For=20 those not familiar with the term, I'm basically tracing over scanned=20 pencil drawings to create clean line art. I'm discovering that it's a little tougher because what I think should=20 be a smooth stroke comes out rather jagged. Sometimes it seems hard to=20 stay going in the direction that I'm intending on moving in. At first I thought this was me simply not being used to the feel of the=20 device. But after some experimentation, it seems like it's impossible to=20 get a truly smooth line. I tried playing with GIMP brush settings, but that kind of thing is not=20 as robust as it is in Photoshop, and there don't seem to be any line=20 smoothing options. I happened to be at a computer store, and they had my model of Wacom=20 hooked up to a Windows machine with Photoshop running. I tried playing=20 with it and discovered that the lines were much smoother and it was much=20 easier to make the line go the direction I intended. So now I'm thinking that the problem might be with Linuxwacom settings. Can anyone suggest anything I might try adjusting in order to try and=20 achieve smoother, straighter lines? Thanks for any advice. =EF=BB=BF-- Dave M G Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft Kernel 2.6.17.7 Pentium D Dual Core Processor PHP 5, MySQL 5, Apache 2 |
