In 2.6 kernels, both /dev/psaux and /dev/input/mice report events from ALL mice detected on the system. (I think /dev/psaux is only kept for backward compatibility). So the only way to access your mice individually is through the /dev/input/mouseX files. My X configuration is such that my PS/2 mouse and the wacom mouse are both core pointers, and the stylus and eraser devices do not send any core events at all. This seems to be the optimal configuration if you are planning on using the GIMP with the tablet. Here are the important sections in my XF86Config-4 file: ######## Primary mouse ################# Section "InputDevice" Identifier "mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "CorePointer" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mouse0" Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2" Option "Emulate3Buttons" "false" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection ######## Wacom devices ################# Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "cursor" Option "CorePointer" Option "Device" "/dev/input/event2" Option "Type" "cursor" Option "Mode" "relative" Option "Speed" "2.0" Option "USB" "on" Option "Threshold" "10" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "stylus" Option "Device" "/dev/input/event2" Option "Type" "stylus" Option "Mode" "absolute" Option "USB" "on" Option "Tilt" "on" Option "Threshold" "10" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "eraser" Option "Device" "/dev/input/event2" Option "Type" "eraser" Option "Mode" "absolute" Option "USB" "on" Option "Tilt" "on" Option "Threshold" "10" EndSection ######## Server layout ################# Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "layout0" Screen 0 "screen0" InputDevice "keyboard0" InputDevice "mouse0" InputDevice "stylus" InputDevice "eraser" InputDevice "cursor" "AlwaysCore" EndSection On Mon, 12 Jan 2004, Jung Pyo Hong wrote: > Thank you for posting your progress ...
