Hi Peter, This is unfortunately a known issue that results from a difference in how the kernel reports the buttons on Bamboo devices (left-click/right-click/forward/back) versus Intuos/Cintiq devices (button 0..n). There's been some recent work [1] to update libwacom to provide GNOME with the information it needs to determine which buttons are sent by which devices. The linked libwacom patch is still in review and will require updates to GNOME as well even once its accepted. I unfortunately can't give a timeline for when everything should be in place and working, but do know that we're working on it :) In the meantime, I've written a script [2] that will help you remap the buttons on your bamboo so that GNOME understands them properly. It should work as a stop-gap solution.
