I've got a DataLogic QuickScan scanner and StarTSP143 printer. The font is pretty small on the printer but I haven't found a way to change it. I got a used cash drawer, not sure of the brand. It wasn't opening like it should when the receipt was printed, so I had to use the key. Then I was playing around with CUPS settings (the web interface at http://localhost:631/) and found a setting for opening the cash drawer which needed to be checked. I checked it off and printed a test page and the drawer popped right open- works great now.
