Hi folks, i'm willing to use Lemon in a german store and i did some changes which are mandotary in Germany (e.g. print also tax and net on the balance) Than some products must be sold with a serialnumber and the client's data so i addes some features for this. Do a stocktake with report for our Tax-Office and so on. For me it would be interesting if someone else is using this great software in Germany. Regards TuxTrainer |

Hello James, Sounds like you did not run the mexico_taxes.sql file. The is usually the problem. LemonPOS does not look to see if the database is correct before it opens up, but Squeeze will not open unless the database has the correct tables. http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/lemonpos/index.php?title=Ubuntu_Installation_Guide#Database_Creation -Ben On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 10:59 PM, James Lee <jam...@ya...>wrote: > Hi, > > Can know what is the default userid and password to login when using > squeeze ? Hi, Can know what is the default userid and password to login when using squeeze ? Cannot configure the product and others if I cant login using squeeze, if not, I will have to write my own sql to insert into the lemondb. Note : I have already done the following : 1. Install Mysql database. 2. Install LemonPos and can login using admin/linux 3. Use Mysql query browser to connect the lemondb databse in Mysql. regards James |

Well v_groupedSO (and all the ones starting with a "v") are not tables, those are views. phpmyadmin treat them as tables. Hi there I am new to linux. I just have installed linux mint 13 on my laptop. I then undertook to install lemonpos using the synaptic package manager. This install is version 0.9.2 of lemon. Using the source code I created the database, as outlined in numerous forums online. My biggest challenge here was that it was quite difficult to get my hands on 0.9.2 sourcecode, as opposed to the more recent 0.9.5. I'm not sure how much of a significant difference this would make? All of my installation seemed to go fine. mySQL is up and running fine too, as far as I can tell. My problem is that I cant actually login to squeeze. When I login nothing happens, and as soon as I try to click anything the program closes and the KDE crash handler screen comes up. In addition, lemon will not allow me to login. And when I try to close the lemon program window it requests a username and password, which I have no idea about, since I have not been able to login. I would greatly appreciate some assistance. I wonder whether it's just a bug using the newer linux OS? Should I possibly revert to an older OS? Should I possibly remove my versions of lemon and squeeze and rather try downloading the more recent release using the sourcecode? I will gladly offer additional information if it might be helpful in resolving my query Thanks |

Hi, I have a small photography studio and need a simple cashregister for passport photo sale. I just installed lemonpos to my laptop and with minor bugs and occasional crashes it seems quite ok software for my use. Lots of thanks for making this. However there is a small problem with receipt. How can I print taxes in it. Tax is calculated ok in screen, but it is not printed on paper receipt. Here in Finland it is mandatory to show value added tax separetely in receipt. The setup is Ubuntu 12.04+lemonpos 0.9.5-22 installed from .deb and mysql with lemon_mysql & mexican tax scripts. Once again, thanks for this great pos. |

Hello Chris, I just remembered you had emailed this. Sorry for such a late reply. At this point it hs not been fix to my knowledge, you may find that it will be ok one day and not ok the next. The other thing that some times happens is after you log in it fixes itself. Hello All, The administrative side of LemonPOS is "Squeeze". My experience is that both can run simultaneously. A price can be changed in Squeeze, and the change is effective the next time that item is sold in Lemon. Hello, I have a need for a feature in Lemon POS. This is the situation. I have a friend who was "sold" Lemon POS for her organic foodstore. Her old system has been decommissioned and the data migrated for the prices of some 6000 products. I was asked to help as I am an engineer with some software expertise by trade. I have not used Lemon/Squeeze before and never heard of it. Point of Sale is not my area of expertise. There are some problems that are very real and I would like to discuss some feature design with someone on the DEV Team. The most immediate issue is this: When the user scans a product at checkout time, once in a while, the price is wrong. The reason might be bad data in the database from the migration or a simple price change that needs to happen. In any case, the user MUST have a way to update the price dynamically during the checkout process. Otherwise there is no way to correct it with customers in line. This renders the whole system worthless. What consideration has been given to that situation? In a seperate issue, the login screen is off the screen to the right and does not improve by changing the screen resolution. How can we make that cleaner and more simple and smaller? I am quite prepared to get you anything you need to assist with this. Any help you can provide is appreciated. Who knows, maybe there is already a feature for this. Regards, Kevin |

Nevermind, it appears the libqt4-sql-mysql package needed to be installed on ubuntu for Lemon to connect to the server. Problem solved it would seem. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 and have downloaded and compiled LemonPOS 0.9.4 RC7 as well as properly set up the database with both sql files (main and taxes). The problem I am having is that neither squeeze nor lemon will connect to the database. I know for a fact mysql is up and running, and the database is there. I can connect to the database using the lemonclient user from the command line with "mysql -u lemonclient -p" so I have no idea what the problem is. Is this an error with lemon and squeeze having a bug in the code for connecting to the server? Thanks, Landon |

Some time ago, someone asked about the bixolon printer. I dont remember very well the details, but it seems that there is a linux cups driver -for at least one model of their printers-. Maybe you need to contact the support team to ask for the driver. The "lp" printing workaround is not a good solution, since the text-only ticket printing has minimal support in lemon (the ticket printed this way is not the same that with the cups method, and some other reports are not printed this way). I posted a query regarding a standalone system with a single Bixolon USB till printer the other day. I finally got it to work in the following way: 1. Under squeeze and lemon, set up the printer with the "Print the ticket as Small receipt using a dot-matrix ticket printer (using /dev/lpX) Printer device: /dev/lp0 Printer Codec: UTF-8" 2. Log in to the system as root and type the following: chmod 666 /dev/usb/lp0 mv /dev/lp0 /dev/lp0-original (move the parallel printer node entry to one side) ln -s /dev/usb/lp0 /dev/lp0 (This series of commands could be inserted in the /etc/rc startup scripts after the device nodes are set up, if necessary.) 3. Make sure that the login user belongs to the groups "lp" and "usb". The printer prints tickets just fine now. :-) cheers Duncan |

Hi Karolina, Client Discount is assigned per client using squeeze's client editor. Open squeeze, select "Clients" (CTRL-C) and select the client. On the client editor you will see a discount field, you can enter the discount percentage ( a value from 0.01 to 100 - example to set a 10% discount, you will type "10" ). This discount is applied over the whole sale. It can be overridden by occasional discount applied to the sale (CTRL-D), so there is no way to apply both client discount and occasional discount (CTRL-D) at the same time in lemon.
