Hi there. We'd like to use the LCD4Linux tool to control the 16-character x 2-line backlit LCD on the Toshiba Magnia SG-20 Internet Appliance where we've installed RedHat 9.0. I've extracted the file and attempted to do ./configure in the directory of the extracted files but the script goes to an error message: checking which drivers to compile... done configure: WARNING gd.h not found: PNG driver disabled configure: WARNING gd.h not found: PNG driver disabled configure: error: X11 headers or libraries not available: X11 driver disabled Where do I remove the PNG and X11 drivers out? thanks! -- sImon. It is the right place. I tried to fix things in CVS. Could you please check out the latest version from CVS. Please double-check if your udelay.c is v1.14, otherwise you were bitten by the "SourceForge Anonymouse CVS Delay Bug" (just wait up to 24 hours in this case). But at the moment, if you don't, lcd4linux uses its own hard-coded definition, which consists of i386 assembler code. I'd not expect them to work on alpha :-) Maybe we can find a solution together. I'd like lcd4linux running on alpha! bye, Michael -- netWorks Vox: +43 316 698260 Michael Reinelt Fax: +43 316 692343 Geisslergasse 4 GSM: +43 676 3079941 A-8045 Graz, Austria e-mail: re...@eu... |

Hello all. There has been a lot of talk about the 2.4 kernel ( especially redhat ) and compiling problems with msr.h. I have an Alpha computer running debian linux with 2.4 kernel. #uname -a Linux ani 2.4.18 #4 Sun Sep 7 18:05:31 MST 2003 alpha unknown When I compile lcd4linux (lcd4linux-0.9.11) it gives me udelay.c errors with the missing msr.h. Looks like debian doesn't have msr.h. The i386 asm's do , but alpha ones don't . I tried the i386 ones for fun: Didn't work. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for your help Questions about my setup or files or have are welcome. Zach __________________________________________________________________ McAfee VirusScan Online from the Netscape Network. Hi Thomas, Thomas Seliger wrote: > can somebody tell me if it is possible to work with lcd4linux > and this components: > > LCD 320*240 > S1D13305F Controller (newest rev. of SED 1330) I'm sorry, but I'm afraid lcd4linux does not support this Controller. At least not at the moment. If you have such a thing, maybe you could try to write a driver? As it's a graphical one, you could use the T6963 as a basis. I would support you as much as I can. Believe me, it's quite easy to write (or adopt) such a driver, but you need a display for testing, and, most important, a datasheet. I'd really appreciate if you would implement this driver! bye, Michael -- netWorks Vox: +43 316 698260 Michael Reinelt Fax: +43 316 692343 Geisslergasse 4 GSM: +43 676 3079941 A-8045 Graz, Austria e-mail: re...@eu... |
