#626 Refresh DB

If possible, it would be very nice to see a "Refresh
DB" option that would allow instances that already have
the DB open to "refresh" their copy without having to
lock/unlock. For a more detailed discussion of what

I support this idea! I would also like to suggest that if you decide to implement this feature, you use a more unambiguous name (i.e. "reload from disk" or "discard unsaved changes").

The original feature request is for a database synchronization feature, not a "Discard unsaved changes" feature. A routine "discard unsaved changes" seems risky, especially if it is discard everything since the last save. If the user accidentally discarded one or more recent password changes there would be no recourse.

If you wish to discard changes that you have previously commited or saved I recommend you use KeePass 2.x's entry's history to roll back to a previous version of the entry.

The original feature request, and the discussion thread it references, is a request for database synchronization. The request predates the introduction of KeePass 2.x.

It should probably be closed unless there is a likelihood of introducing database synchronization in KeePass 1.x.

This is a valid request for both V1 and V2.
As long as there is sufficient user confirmation I see no reason to prevent changes being thrown away.

The author of this 2006 feature request was asking for a feature like KeePass Synchronization which he called "Reload". He was not asking for a feature that executes an unconditional overwrite. See the thread by the original feature request author that amplifies his thinking. Unconditional overwrite ("reload" or "bulk undo") without manually entering the master key can be currently accomplished approximated with a trigger that defines a button and executes the "Overwrite existing" import method. The case for native implementation of an unconditional overwrite menu item seems weak to me. If implemented, an appropriate name for this Undo feature might be "Shotgun Undo".

If this feature request serves a purpose that is useful to the Dominik, then it should not be closed. But I thought it was clear that the originally requested feature has long been implemented in KeePass 2.x, and is unlikely to be implemented in KeePass 1.x .

There is no guarantee that an FR will make it into KeePass.

The requested feature here can be performed with these steps:

1. Menu: File
2. Synchronize
3. Recent files
4. Choose "1 ...name... (Opened)"

Or keyboard sequence: Alt, F, Y, R, 1

However it would be great if it was more discoverable. Under File > Synchronize there should be an item "Synchronize current (refresh)" and it should have the Ctrl + R keyboard shortcut.
