No way to vew in-memory protected custom strings of old versions
A lightweight and easy-to-use password manager

When viewing old versions of an entry, one cannot easily see the contents of a custom string that has in-memory protection enabled. Naturally, the "edit" button is disabled, but I guess in could be replaced by e "view" button for old versions.
Right now, the workaround I have come up with is to restore an entry to a previous state, view the info and then close the DB without saving.
Moving to open feature requests.
Ticket moved from /p/keepass/bugs/1400/
To make undoing the change easy we need a Refresh option. There is already a feature request you can vote for here: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/feature-requests/626/
cheers, Paul
I appreciate the thought, but that feature request will only help with the workaround and not the solution. I don't think that restoring an entry to a previous state should be the way to get access to some to the information that state contains.
I've now added a read-only mode for the entry string dialog, which is used by the entry dialog when viewing a history entry.
Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:

Awesome! Thank you very much!
It took me a while to notice the change (the "View" button that replaces the grayed out "Edit" button), but thank you for this.
